I love the Cayman, but the Artega has got it beat...hands down.

the Teuton

How much power does the Artega have?

Right now, even though the Artega looks better, I'm tempted to go with the Porsche.  So much of the car is about status and no one knows what an Artega is.
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

Then you're buying it for the wrong reasons.

the Teuton

But the Porsche is still an amazing car, so it really doesn't matter.  The Artega is kinda generic.  It could have been drawn up by a number of companies.

You'd have a hard time explaining to anyone what the Artega is.

Still, it's better than getting a Cayman and having people think you can't afford a 911.

Doesn't the Artega use VW running gear?

VW engine and DSG tranny.  Everything else is Porsche AFAIK.

Pardon the n00bness, but why wouldn't I just buy a Cayman S? Is the Artega cheaper?

Shut up n00b!  The Artega looks way sexier, handles the same, and we have yet to see power numbers so it may or may not be faster.

Imagine a hot girl asks you what you drive.

Hemi: "I drive an Artega!"
Girl: "I've never heard of that  "
Hemi: "Well almost all the parts are Porsche-sourced."
Girl: "So it's a Porsche then.."
Hemi: "No it's not, but almost. I paid more for it than a Porsche though!"

Thank god you're married.

Artega. I don't like the Cayman.

The Cayman is a fantastic car.

But the Artega is beautiful.  Spec it with a real manual, and I'm all over it.

Cayman S if the Artega isn't available with the 3.4l flat six and 6 speed transmission, but if i could get that engine/tranny combo in the Artega, i'd get that.

I think it's downright ugly from the B-Pillar on rearwards.

That's a nay no, I think it's the best looking car on the road today. I can find no fault with it's design.

Still wish it had the Porsche flat 6. You know what I voted for.

A two seater can have a B pillar, though many do not.  The Cayman, Z3 coupe, Z4 coupe, and 350Z all have B pillars.
