This baby displaces a whopping 1.8 liters under the hood. That's a smaller engine than any car I've ever had, except a 1990 Miata that I drove 2 summers ago.

But guess what...it makes 241 hp and 288 tq. Zing. And it gets 40 mpg. Double Zing. And it's cheaper to build than a diesel. OMG 100 ZING!

I'm not sure what the catch is (if there is one), but this is making regular gasoline IC engines look kinda dumb.

the Teuton

That's, uh, the same displacement as my car with more than twice the horsepower, the torque, and almost twice the gas mileage in the city.  Wow.

I blame it all on me having a 4 speed auto and AWD, of course.
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

It's funny.  How do I upgrade?  With an engine 0.7 liters larger waiting to go into my car sometime soon.  Huge displacement bump.

That's like saying that your girlfriend and mistress have b-cups combined.  Still entirely disappointing.

I was wondering when they were going to ditch the dorky DiesOtto name.

I really hope they license this technology to their competitors.

By the way, this is sort of a trend in Europe. Extracting the most horsepower and torque out of smaller engines for the sake of improving fuel economy and emissions. :ohyeah:

This output in a performance motor would be outstanding.

A 3.5 V-6 capable of 450HP and 400lbft of torque from a N/A mill would be unreal. Ii look forward to seeing this technology in the future. As a performance minded buyer i'd be more interested in this technology than hybrids even at a higher cost.
