eh, that pathetic high revving motor probably doesn't even have enough torque to make it up a modestly steep hill in traffic... better come equipped with some stylish shoes

If it had a manual transmission i'd love that thing.

Satin finish never does it for me.  I also don't like all the suede on the interior.  Overall it's just meh.

OK, does it seem to anybody else that embroidering the word "hardcore" on the driver seat of a 700 HP matte black Ferrari is just trying a little too hard to be taken seriously?
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

yes.

ya the seat logo is pretty stupid.

I think the car looks fantastic in just about every other aspect.

the Teuton

Seat logo and spoiler need to go.  Otherwise, I love it.

Here's a stupid question.

Are Satin finish cars harder to wash?  Does dirt get into the non smooth finish?  And also are they more resistant to scratchs and swirls?

I had a kind of satin black like finish on my computer and it was prone to oil smudging (from my fingers) that was a pain to get out.

I'll give you my opinion on it.
For starters i work in an automotive paint store.

Satin finishes are just as you described, harder to maintain and more prone to scratching and swirling. The problem is that there is no way(that i know of) to renew the finish like on a regular gloss paint job. Though i've never had a car with such a satin finish i don't think you can buff and polish and retain the low gloss level.

Also i had a customer come in and buy a gallon of red paint(single stage urethane) and a quart of universal flatener. He was going to spray his kids car a satin/flat red. Well he came in and showed me the gas door, thought it wasn't hardened properly(probobaly wasn't, and probobly had too much flatener in it which made it milky). Anyway i looked at the gas door, explained to him what little i knew about a flattened paint job and showed him on the back side of the door. Just by lightly touching my finger nail to it and sliding it about an inch i left a shiny scratch in the paint, not much you can do about it.

They look great but are a bitch to maintain, a factory flatened color will be more resistant to scratching(due mainly to proper mixture of paint to flattener). I still plain to paint something with a satin black, it just looks to cool to not do it.

Sorry for the length of the post.

Other than the fact it's a 430.  But it looks okay for a 430.

Nah, the 430's too finicky, too ugly.  The 355's far and away better looking than both, but in coupe form, the 430's just not pretty enough.

Anyone else think it was photoshopped at first? It kinda looks like a car from one of those cheesy, online, flash video games.

JYODER240

The F430 tries to hard to look good. They try to use too much aggressive body work and it comes across as cheap, ackward, and overdone. It's not unattractive but it will never be a 355. The 355 didn't have to try to look good, it just was. The 430 is like a decent looking girl who puts on skimpy clothes and a lot of makeup. The 355 is like Kiera Knightly(sp?) in a wedding dress.
