Chevy Test Drive inpressions

Okay, so today we drove quite a few Chevy's. We drove the Equinox Sport, pre-production Malibu LT, Suburban LTZ, Impala LT, Impala SS, and...That's it. Here we go:

Malibu LT: What a dissapointment. The interior is just rubbish. Pure and utter rubbish. It's noisy, it's not very smooth, and the cloth is really nasty. Please, save yourself the trouble and buy a Sonata.

Equinox Sport:       I LOVE THIS CAR!!!! It blows the Malibu out of the water and steps on CR-V territory. If you want a small CUV, get this one. One of these could very well find its way into our garage.

Impala LT: Please, avoid this car completely. The backseat is just thrown in...it's absolutely TINY! There is NO legroom at all. It's terrible. The interior is rubbish and you know what, so are the seats.

Impala SS: Please, test drive this car!! The interior isn't any better than the LT, but it's a lot sportier and the seats are VERY comfy! Still, the backseat has not room...period. Upon start-up, I heard a wonderful symphony of the V8. Sounded wonderful.

Suburban LTZ: Absolutely HUGE!!!!!! The interior is very comfortable and it's just huge. My dad HATED driving it because it was just so huge. If you absolutely need a huge SUV with great towing abilities, get this one.

All in all, I was dissapointed with the Malibu. It was a pre-production model, so maybe things'll change. I sure hope so! It looks absolutely wonderful, but the interior is a HUGE let down. I want an Equinox Sport....badly.

So how'd you score all these test drives?

Also, the Impala has no rear legroom? Are you high?

Backseat of an Impala has no room?  How tall are you, two stories?

I'm 5' 7".  There really is not much leg room at all.  The Azera, which is about the same size, has SO much more.  It's HUGE back there!

Sorry dude, a bit ignorant on your part. I'm not sure about the Azera, since I've never been in one, but the Impala and the Intrepid should have comparable rear legroom. Both cars are absolutely cavernous; my dad had an '03-04 (can't remember exactly) Impala LS and it was fine in the back. I'm 6'1 and my dad's 6'4, and it was fine.

It's very cramped back there.  I dare you all to go and sit in an Impala, put it in your driving postion, and then try and fit in the back.  It's extremely cramped.

We HAD an Impala. My dad and I both put the front seats all the way back. I can still sit behind myself. In fact, I'll go show you something right now. BRB.

You're doubting me when I was fucking sitting in the damn back seat of the damn car.  If it was cramped, it was cramped.  It's cramped.

TheIntrepid

As I remember it, the Intrepid and Impala's back seats were nearly identical in size.

This is the back seat of my car as it sits outside in the rain right now. Sorry for the shitty pic from my mom's phone, but it's the best i can do. The front seats are almost all the way back, if not all the way.

Cramped is Subjective. My mom drives an E-series........after that, everything is cramped.

Yeah but he has a Camry, Accord, and Integra, all of which the Impala is roomier than. Perhaps he got into the Impala after the Suburban.

The new Impala has changed a bit from 2000, somehow it's managed to get smaller.

You said your car had the leather package.  Is this something else that's not true that you've told us?

27M leather package includes the leather wrapped steering wheel, leather centre console lid (which is visible) and leather wrapped shift knob (mine was a fleet car and had a different shift knob, but I now have the leather one from the junkyard that I put on yesterday). 27G package had the leather seats. Plus, Ed, Deesea, Maksx, and eThirteen have ALL been in my car. VTEC has seen the car as well.

Don't try to call me out unless you know what you're talking about. You end up looking like an idiot.

I didn't know what the package consisted of.  How the hell am I supposed to know?  I simply called you out based on what I've seen.  Now that it's cleared up, I appologize.

Thanks. In a few weeks I should have my 300M leather seats put in though so I'll have the full 27G package.

edit: my all season "over-the-hump" mat was a waste of money.

Yes.  Dan used to give out poutine with registration, so that explains why we have so many Canadians.

Chrysler cloth isn't very good, IMO.  Chrysler leather > Chrysler cloth every day of the week.

Mine is the premium cloth upholstery, and it's very good. Cloth > Leather in this climate.
