It's "Rich Corinthian Leather."

Mine is the premium cloth upholstery, and it's very good. Cloth > Leather in this climate.

And CJ, I say this from experience. This climate is horrid to have leather in. It fries your ass in the summer and freezes it in the winter.

I love leather, regardless of which climate I'm in.

I'm of the opinion that leather is always better than cloth.

I hate leather. It's loud.

You also have an Econoline, so your opinion is void. :tounge:

Have you ever sat in their seats? (not the newer ones, the older conversion vans) You'd want them in your house.

Conversion vans have nothing to do with Ford, and everything to do with the company that did the conversion.

Cloth feels cheap, stains easily, and is hard to clean.  I don't find it comfortable either.  Leather feels better, looks better, cleans more easily, and is far more comfortable.

I want to do a full 300M interior conversion. THat means heated leather.

Three reasons why I don't like leather seats

1)  It's painfully cold in the winter when your car has been parked outside in subzero weather.

2)  It's painfully hot when your car has been parked outside on a sunny summer day.

3)  It's slippery.  Cloth holds you in place much better during spirited driving.  One thing you'll notice about any serious track oriented car (e.g. Porsche GT3) is the absence of leather seating surfaces.

Additionally, as far as the back seat is concerned, the new Impala is a different car and ifcar has commented about how the latest revision of that platform (w body, is that right?) has some packaging issues (we had a long argument once upon a time about the Lacrosse's back seat, don't worry, I schooled him (it was, as usual, a battle of technicalities)).

CJ

The Impala and Lacrosse are the exact same car underneath, but the Impala manages to have a MUCH smaller back seat.  WHAT GIVES?

No they're not, and no it's not.

Yes they are, and yes it is.  The Impala is the same as the Grand Prix which is the same as the Lacrosse, which means the Impala and the Lacrosse are the same thing.  I sat in both cars back to back, and found the Lacrosse to much bigger on the inside.

My mom had an Allure, it's tighter than the Impala.

Maybe the generation that you guys had, but not the new one.  It's much bigger.

The Allure/Lacrosse and that Impala you keep referring to are not the same thing. The Allure/Lacrosse and the new for '05 Impala are pretty much the same thing.

That makes more sense. My bad. The photo of the Impala rear that I posted was an '06, though. Also, the new gen Impala was new for '06, not '05.
