I have a new Maxima and I like it a lot.  It still has a tendency to sway a bit under heavy power (torque steer) but it's a great car with a good amount of room and there's some good deals to be had.

They are, but they aren't impossible to find. Besides, like TBR said, he could find a MY2005 Legacy 2.5GT, which is its equivalent for cheap.

no kidding about the deals! carsdirect quoted a starting price of just over $23k for a 2007 Maxima SE ... alas, it appears the 07's are no more

Never looked for a Spec B, but the MY2005 equivalent isn't too hard to find (5MT GT Limited).

The SpecB has sportier/firmer suspension tuning than the 2.5GT.
