Somehow, it manages to look more polished than the Hyundai Tuscon and Kia Sportage.

It is a strange shape, especially from a direct head on look, but certain trims pull it off without looking too bad. The base LE (the most common trim, I'd imagine) is hideous. The SE's grille did wonders for the nose, pulls it off relatively well, and the XLE/Hybrid make it look at least handsome. It's definitely the result of trying too hard to make a snub-nosed (thank you pedestrians that don't watch where you're walking) car look sporty.

Exactly. The LE does look like ass.

He's right, though.  The Camry isn't a looker.

I'm not going to argue with you two anymore. Especially not you, the little screw-up that comes and chimes in with "UH HUH!!!" after every knowledgeable poster.

At least Ro has his own opinions, instead of mimicking what seems to be the trend.

It looks like a Subaru Tribeca that was stung by a bee and has swollen up to the point where all it's body creases disappeared: like an aging starlet who recieved way too much botox.

If the Grille on this car would lose that akward Hump, it'd actually look different.

I have my own opinions, you asshole.  I happen to agree with Ro on this one, so fuck off.

I kinda like the Camry's grille. Without it, people would say this car looks bland.

The SE doesn't really do much for the Camry, IMO.  It still has that tumor up front and the ground effects look cheaply tacked on...like something Pontiac would have done in the 1980's.  Eh.     Just my opinion.

WTF are you people smoking? It's just a few odd angles. There's nothing exceptionally ugly about this vehicle. In fact, it does a better last generation Tribeca front-end than the fugly mofo Subaru released.

You're my age.  We're getting old.  Plus, now that you're married, your life expectancy has gone way down, since you're more likely to be poisoned by your wife.

USA_Idol

That tumor up front is still there, even on the SE.  Yuck.  That kind of negates any improvement the SE grille brings.  And those ground effects still look tacky.

They could stick a Camry badge on a dog shit and American customers would still buy it.

It looks like a cheap piece of shit, even in the pictures, but there's nothing aesthetically offensive about the shape of the body.

Do the automotive manufacturers of the world have anything to fear from Chinese designs?

They were saying about the same thing 15-18 years ago about Korean cars.

Hump??  What Hump?

C'mon!  This thing is hideous and quite dorky looking.  I know there can be cultural differences and all that, but especially in this case, the Chinese have launched a butt ugly dog here.  Maybe if you fix the front end, fix the rear end, and tweak the proportions a bit, it might be OK.   Of course, judging from this "concept" vehicle below, the folks in charge better lay off the LSD soon if they hope to ever design a winner.
