Guys, it was a joke, no need for a pissing contest. Yes, a stock 350Z will out handle a stock Mustang GT. Are we all OK now?
Some people takes things personally...even when it's a joke.

You got me ;)

I could pull up that C/D article where the 350Z lapped VIR (thats a racetrack with turns, you know what a turn is right?) 8seconds faster than the Mustang GT. I'll just let it go though, being marginally quicker in a straight line is all you've got.

oh yea, that was the same test that my underpowered car also lapped faster then a Mustang GT...

I believe a Cobalt did too.

Not helping your case, HemiDude!

I don't think he'll be buying a Cobalt after a J-body craps out on him.

The thing is, TrepDude, I've never stated that the Mustang outhandles a 350Z or an RX-8 or a Cobalt SS Supercharged.  I would like anyone to find a quote of me stating that that.

I would buy a Cobalt SS Supercharged only if I bought a relatively new one that hasn't been bagged on.

He's right Yoder.  99% of the time the only thing that matters in the real world is straight line speed.  It's very rare that someone challenges another to a race on a twisty road.

Where is theis "real world" that you speak of where its unavoidable to get into street races on a daily drive?
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

Seriously. I have the occasional stoplight battle, but it happens once every few weeks, unlike G-Unitazerous who supposedly street races every day.

You mean there isn't a dragstrip on your way to work?

oooo... i think i saw a Mustang GT on the way home from work... well, i think it was a GT anyway because it had the fog lights, but it could have been part of the ricey body kit

There's an RX-8 in the parking lot right now.  I can only see the front end though...oh wait, it was a CX-7...no sorry, it was a CX-9.  My mistake. :evildude:

No, and my life is poorer for it.

Your 350Z is the Track model with some handling and brake goodies though, right?  How close are the base 350Z and Mustang GT in handling?  I'd imagine the 350Z still has an advantage, though less so.  Not bashing either car, as I really like both.  And, if I'm speaking with my checkbook, I'd pick up a 'Stang GT (2005+) and do some functional handling upgrades.  No longer a fair comparison, as you're looking at stock vs. modified, but I absolutely love the overall Mustang package, and I'm a sucker for a V8 exhaust note (I'm scratching my head on that one as I look at my 2.0L 4 cyl car  ).

Track, 35th aniv., and Grand Tourings all have the same engine and suspension as the lower trims. They do have Brembo brakes but they've never shown to stop faster they just less likely to fade.

i just rely on the 2-3 gear change to create a loud pop and some flames out the exhaust to clear a path onto the freeway
