I dig the chain as the step-up unit.

This is expensive but so cool. My dad had a gold Cherokee (slightly older model & a 2-door, though), and I'm super nostalgic for them. But most of them on the market are big POS's.

I almost bought one instead of Explorer. It wasn't that clean, but it was WAY cheaper lol.

I'd pay that for a brand new one TBH.

If that one was more like 13-15k I'd be super tempted to call them.

I mean, it's cool to see an XJ in such miraculous shape. But you're just gonna go beat it up in the woods anyway (or at least, you should). Spend $600 on a POS and be happy. It's the Yooper way.

Speaking of useless life advice ... I would gladly pay TWICE that for a good XJ

Same.

Finding an XJ with a decent interior is tough. That'd be my #1 priority. Mechanical stuff isn't hard to fix, but replacing plastics or upholstery is a PITA.

You've clearly never seen how those rust out up here.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

I've seen plenty. But I'm close to the desert and can find ones that don't look like that.

Friend of mine has an XJ.  He just finished fabricating and installing some angle iron to replace/supplement a large section of his frame that was essentially gone due to rust.

I'd rather pay a few grand instead of $600 if I don't have to mess with that.

"Needs a tune up" in Craigslist language usually means 5 or 6 burned valves and rat chewed plug wires. Just sayin'

Even so, worth the price, if the swap was done right.

If this doesn't sell quick I'd guess it has issues. Plus looks like it's been lowered.....

Looks more like it needs rear shocks. Still, it would be interesting to take a look at that price.

Probably springs. I think those have a habit of breaking for whatever reason. Mine did.

If it's mechanically sound, I bet I could detail the shit out of it and sell it for an extra grand.

Up north it would sell for twice that because of rust.

Nah, that car even if rust free @300,000 kms is no more than 2 grand up here. Canadian.
