My old truck is just another vehicle as far as the state goes. It costs about $ 185 a year for the plates.

Granted, I doubt many classic owners follow the rules, or that it's enforced to any degree.

Whoa whoa whoa, I didn't say anything about insurance. You could register a car as a regular car, but have it insured as a "classic/antique/whatever".

+1 to both of those.

Utah laws are a bit more lax anyway. I think they are representative of most US states:
"used for participation in club activities, exhibitions, tours, parades, occasional transportation and similar uses, but is not used for general daily transportation."

The "occasional transportation" part would allow Sunday drives through the country side, AFAIK.

Oh shit, yeah. Monday...

Any restrictions with classic/antique insurance though?

Depends on the policy, but as long as you meet the sufficient minimum dictated by law ($200,000 third-party liability) the registries have no reason to deny you from registering a car. Your insurance company then might have a problem if you're driving more than XXXX km/year, or whatever.

$3,400 is too much money, though.

There's another that's a little closer to me that looks to be in better shape:

$900 less than the other one, but only a four-banger. :(

Interesting vehicles. Too many miles/kilometers/whatever.
I know we deeply disagree on political shit, but hey, anybody that likes Jeeps can't be that bad.  :ohyeah:

I love Comanches, probably my favorite truck, with the straight-6 4.0 of course.

Also, 2WD. But that sweet stripe almost makes up for it.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

If I bought one I'd mostly use it in the summer anyway, so 2WD vs 4WD isn't as much of a concern.

That CJ-7 I posted earlier is still for sale, and now that I look at it a little closer not only is it an automatic, which in the case of a '77 would be a THM400 which is awesome, but it also has Quadra-Trac. Full-time four-wheel-drive was pretty rare in '77, especially in CJ-7s... :hmm: Looks like about the only option that thing didn't have was a 304 V8.

It's really ugly, so it's not selling. If I was up there I might look at it and flash $1500 bucks at him to see what happens. Do you know how to weld?

$189 a side.

Lol, no I can't weld. Don't have a welder; don't have a garage, so don't even really have anywhere to keep it other than my back yard (based on the photos it looks like the current owner is in the same predicament, haha).

My welder is in my living room. What is the problem?

Put a 572 big block in it.

I like the 572 small block better. It's lighter.

At least they're reasonably sized though.

This is true.  There's actually some tire there.

I would not buy this particular cargo van that needs a transmission, but I am inspired by the super cheap DIY camper with bubble wrap walls and 2x4 furnishings.

Yeah, I mean, an automatic could have a bad clutch, but it mostly sounds like they are clueless.
