Huh.  Did not know Studebaker was around into the 1960's.  Interesting lookin' car.

The Avanti was pretty remarkable when it first came out...set some speed records at the Salt Flats I believe.  Its corporate 289 CI V8 was a pretty stout engine and performed well with a Paxton supercharger.  For a brief period it was known as "The World's Fastest Production Car."

Like a fine Detroit wine, this vehicle has aged to budgetary perfection...

Coolest Uber car ever, if they allowed it.

That would be super cool to do in ritzy tourist areas... (cuz you'd have to charge a lot to keep the riffraff from scratching it up)

There's an older M3 convertible for sale here, about $10k. With Sequential gearbox

Jesus, almost there. The green is not for me, and I'd be hoping for the Lebaron (hidden head lights) but this thing is virtually pristine, plus the last year of the high compression 440 with forged bits. I'm seriously thinking about it. There are lots of such vehicles from the central/eastern part of the state (farm families).

Pistons must be the size of a thimble.

That was my other thought. Tiny combustion chambers

I'm seriously thinking about it. But what I REALLY want is the Lebaron stablemate:

Top tip: if you gents are ever photographing your cars, whether for sale or just for love, buy a polarizing filter to clip over your phone camera. It will cut the glare & reflections (esp from windshields,) and make the colors pop.

Someone posted a decent running 1991 Taurus SHO ("plus") for $2500 in Virginia. Needs seats repaired, otherwise it seems ok.

Sigh.

I'd buy it

That's not bad, either. Later part of 1991 is the year they added some cosmetic changes (Wheels, no black molding (all the same body color), and paint-matched mirrors) and are fairly rare. The gen2 came out in 1992-1995 and I just never cared for that body look. It was truly mostly the same exact car, but they added an Auto option.

Biggest issue with any SHO is the money for upkeep.....

This is the only house that I want. But I can't afford it, so I got a $150K mortgage, instead.
