LOLZ

This is the most recent ad for the same car:

I am speculating... Sciroccos aren't exactly as common as Ford Tauruses. Perhaps it is not such a good idea.

His car is in fairly nice shape, but it had a bad motor. He got one from the junkyard and it was good to go.

Plus he found some weed in the car too.

I wonder if this one has some weed in it...  :rastaman:

Tentatively, I think I have decided to hold onto the Audi for now, ditch the Escort, and buy a good $1000 car ASAP.

Good plan.  At this point, it'd be good to keep the Audi, and fix it as you get time.  In a few months, the weather will be perfect for working on vehicles, and you could probably have a bit of money saved up from your job as well.  Rationally, you should probably cut your losses, but this wasn't a rational purchase.

Brakes suck,....

Autozone has all the brake line benders, etc. for rent...I did my brake lines over Thanksgiving, and again before Christmas, and it sucked horribly.  Have fun...

Wow, usually brake lines last longer than one month. You must have done it wrong. :evildude:

what's wrong with it

Looks okay, it might be worth checking out.  If it's a 4-cylinder, it's the same engine that's in my car.

I ran over a deer a few months back, which dented the floor of my car (you should see the backseat!), and it evidently crunched the lines in a few places.  That compounded with the rust caused serious problems...I had one line go in November that was right between the gas tank and the frame; it took me ten hours to repair.  The next month, the line running from the front to back went, fortunately that was easily accessible.  Went through them all in minute detail after that, I should be good now...

I bend mine by hand. It's not hard to avoid kinks if you're careful.

Ya can't make some of these turns by hand....they were real tight.  It was a chore to get 'em done with the tool!

I bent a ~1.5" 360 degree loop by hand with no kinks. You must have been using a really hard metal. My lines were soft metal.

I used whatever you buy in autozone...it's nothing fancy.  I never knew there were three different size lines, not to mention, standard, flare, bubble flare, etc!  What a bloody pain.

I miss it alrelady. But now it will either be rebuilt, or become an organ donor so other Audis can live on in the glory of V8-Quattroness.
