There must be some bizzare contest in Toyota's design and marketing departments - trying to see how ugly of a vehicle they can force into the North American market before everyone realizes what kind of sick joke is being played on us.

Don't give them ideas - they'll start rebadging Azteks!

What's with the really colorful gauges
"On a given day, a given circumstance, you think you have a limit. And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit, and you think, 'Okay, this is the limit'. And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high." - Ayrton Senna

Why is this in the Big Guys?

Because like every other tall AWD station wagon, Toyota calls it a crossover SUV before hatchback or wagon.

The winner deserves some sort of trophy...

with which I'll beat him over the head with it until he stains the carpet.

You've just banished the entire brand, methinks.

If that does in fact happen, may I have a prize?

You know, for that I'd perform any favour whatsoever for every single member of the US armed forces if they would help me carry out my mission.

Actually, Omi, the Highlander is pretty nice.

It's not quite so fat and ridiculously bulgy as the others, but it still scares me for some reason.

Rich is heading for Japan.  He might be able to help.  I'm afraid I can't do much except help ensure that Japan never gets a hold of the F-22, so you Aussies might have air superiority.

I wouldn't buy one, but the Avalon isn't so bad looking, IMO.  It's not stunning, but it's not awkward or outright ugly like most of the other cars pictured.

After you wake up with the sun at 6am on someone's floor, coughing up cigarette butts and tasting like warm beer, you may well change your opinion on this matter.

I don't know, Sander.  The last Sequoia looked pretty darn good.
