What's the point of the Phantom then?

The same as a Veyron, to fuel one's ego.

For the record even if I could afford 25 Veyrons, I wouldn't buy one.

If I'm going to go 250mph, I want to know that I will have at least a SLIGHT chance of surviving if I crash.

You don't.

Just accept that and get on with it.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

Is it just me, or does it look like most of the body panels are made out of vacuum molded plastic?

Hmph. Kit car looks for only $650,000.

I'd rather a Factory Five GTM... and save $600,000.

To be fair, that's not a $50,000 car, as was implied. Fifty grand gets you the rolling chassis kit. Complete, and done as quality as that one, you're probably looking at 70 or 80.

The GTM kit costs $20K unless they seriously jacked the price in the past year.  A finished, running car could be done as cheaply as maybe $45K.  C&D tested one like a year or two ago that had a pricier Z06 engine mated to a 911GT3 gearbox that was I think $60K.

2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.
