That's a load of shit. If you're too arthritic to turn a key (they don't require much effort), you probably shouldn't be driving. My dad is arthritic in his wrists and shoulders, but it doesn't affect his ability to drive. Of course, driving a manual car is very, very painful for him because of the repeated shifter movements, but he can still turn a key perfectly. Doesn't hurt him at all.

You're way too young to have even the faintest clue about chronic pain.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

His dad does; but not all arthritis is the same, and many , many peopple have it bad in their wrists.

Besides which, this has to be hands down, the pettiest, stooopidest argument I've read in a very long time.

He needs to bulk up a little then.

Maybe he needs to have the power steering belt yanked off too.

Shut the fuck up. I said that AT LEAST a year and a half ago, before I'd even learned to drive manual.

I was a passenger in it when dad took it for a spirited drive. I like the CVT in this car a lot better than in our Camry. What I don't understand is the manumatic function. What's the point?

It has a nice engine note, too. Too bad I haven't been able to use the sunroof.

I guess I'll put my $0.02 in before this thread goes *completely* to shit...

When I test drove the Maxima, I liked using the manumatic feature for "downshifting" the car to engine brake. It's not the least bit jerky like in many other cars; it's nice and smooth as the engine feels like it rev-matches the simulated downshift.

I also took a 2.5 Altima for a short spin at the same dealer, and it felt like a better match for the CVT, because the Maxima didn't feel quite as powerful as it actually was supposed to be. Maybe it's psychological, but it felt a tick slower than the CTS and TL.

If you weren't driving, how do you know whether you like the CVT better or not?

I don't give two shits.  The constant pickering between you three is so childish.  You guys just bitch and rip on each other for hours on end, and it clogs up the forums and makes it hard to see posts that are actually of some worth.  Whether your bitching is serious, or you just get off from it, no one cares.  The end result is the same; pages of whiny shit about the dumbest things.

Okay, fine. That argument is legitimate, but not for that post. Save it for a post that deserves it. Had it occurred to you that I wasn't flaming him?
