Bah, I think that's rubbish. Maybe it has some validity on a direct linkage, but with cable operation, I doubt it.
Then the cable is still always pulling on the syncros.

The instructions for installing the knob contain some great Japanese to English translations.

Turn genuine knob to left to remove it. It may help to remove the genuine knob easier with warming shaft by dryer, if it is adhered.

To tighten screw, tighten it slowly and carefully. When you feel it getting tighten, don't tighten further after tightening it to rotate for half. Otherwise, spiral ridge for screw may be destroyed. Tighten further after park your vehicle,if you feel any shaking during driving.

Ok then!

Theoretically, yes: but there are so many high ileage transmissions out there now that ave been owned by hand-resters that the facts say that whatever wear it causes is negligible at best.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

Depends on the track, he'll get through the turns faster (besides having a much smaller car I imagine is a much better track driver than you) but you would pull away on the straights.

It doesn't matter how much power your car has if you don't have the SK1LLZ to use it properly.

Jetta is in the shop now - getting exhaust fixed and then state inspection.

Well, this place said it'll cost $500 to fix the exhaust. I called a custom exhaust shop and they said $300.

Maybe I'll just do it myself.

You need to invest in renting a garage. When you can't even perform the simplest of tasks on your own, it's like flushing hundreds of dollars in the toliet.

You just trashed a car because it needed a brake job. That is insane.

No kidding

The good news is, the exhaust is the only thing the Jetta needs to pass inspection.

Jackpot! I found myself a shop. A custom exhaust place out about 30-minutes outside of town said they could do it for $150-$180.
The other three places ranged from $300 - over $540. I suspect this is the difference between pre-fabbed stainless steel systems ($$$$$!), and custom bent aluminized. I'm bringing it in tomoroww afternoon if he's not busy.

Rent a garage?  Just go to a Walmart.  They let homeless people live in their parking lots, I'm sure they'll let you work on you car.

My downpipe back 3" exhaust was $150, I think.

I provided the muffler.

Are you going to install a ric0rz muffler?
