FWIW, our unmuffled 1.6L 1980 Rabbit makes a grunty "boo-flap" noise rather than a resonance heavy "fart" sound like the Honda.

IIRC, when the exhaust fell off my brother's 2.slow, it didn't sound THAT bad.

Yeah, my Civic was a fart machine. With the huge exhaust leak in the Jetta, I can already tell it's not as bad.

Our CRX has a Supertrap and a glasspack, but nothing takes the fart out of a Honda.

Would beano in the fuel tank help?

Supertrapp = SuperFART. There is nothing you can do, short of putting a turbo on it, can help a Civic.

The turbo worked wonders for the L28 in my Z.

Stock L28Es sound like crap no matter what. L28ETs all sound AWESOME no matter what.

I get to listen to that anytime I want.

Except for now. Because I have no intake/exhaust gasket.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

It's not American. It's built in Mexico, designed in Germany, just like the Jetta.

I do suspect that I shall actually keep the Jetta long enough to make it there, so I might need to do some real m0dz. Maybe I'll get a set of racing tires.

Engine and suspension are my mild mods.  That, and tires.  It will be the shit on a very small scale.  Be ready, Nick.

You will have that 2.5 swapped in by then? And the RS suspension is it? Hmm... I don't want to get a crazy stiff suspension. The Jetta won't be totally kick ass on the track, but the stock setup is great for street use, so maybe I will just get a crazy stiff rear sway bar so I can dorifffttooo.
