I've probably driven more W203 C classes than anyone here, and it's a fine car.  I just wouldn't get the C240 4Matic though; that engine is saddled with too much.

Oh, and at another Acura dealer, we saw an '07 Accord EX V6 with leather for $21,750 with like 8k miles on it. That's also in the running, as is a Mazda6, Mazda3, and an Impreza 2.5i hatch.

I'd get that Accord.  Low miles and more power.

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't the TSX have better suspention and is lighter?

The Accord is pretty smooth, handles pretty darn good for a family sedan, and it's not exactly heavy.

Yeah. Plus, my sister doesn't need that power, and she liked the way the TSX drove over the Accord. We're leaning towards the TSX.

We might go check out a 9-3 tomorrow.

I see a lot of TSXs around here (there's at least 3 in my apartment complex alone).  It's a nice car, and I'd be really tempted to give a look to a 5-speed one were I shopping for a car in that price range.

They really are nice cars. She wants an automatic (BTW, it's a 6-speed manual, not a 5-speed), though. Either way, should be a nice car.

At one point I would drive at least one a week, for well over a year.  Granted, they were often the same car, but I think I drove every possible configuration of that car.

The C-240 4-Matic is fine.  My cousin has one and it's a great car.  But as Raza correctly pointed out, it's a tad...sluggish.  Opt for a 320 or 350 if you need some pep.

Fine, they're decent cars, but for now, they're out of the running. We've pretty much narrowed it down to these cars, in this order:
1. Acura TSX (the one I posted)
2. Accord V6
3. Mazda3
4. Impreza 2.5i

Any chance of looking at a used one?  Resale on those isn't particularly spectacular.

Es muy posible.

However, I'd imagine that since it's an aging model, dealers would be willing to bargain a nice amount. I remember 850CSi had one in his family, and I believe they got a very good deal on it.

My dad drives a 5-speed 6 V6 (loaded up too) that he's looking to get rid of (he wants something a bit sportier).  I'm strongly tempted to pick it up, depending on how big the family discount is.

That sounds awesome.

I just e-mailed the local Mazda dealer to get a quote on a white Mazda6 V6. Sticker's like $24,695 or something. I'm hoping we can talk them down to under $20k.

The 230 would run circles around the 240, especially in 4Matic.

I wouldn't go with the Accord, personally, because I wouldn't need a car that big.  Any of the other three would be awesome, but after living with a hatchback, I'd continue with a hatch.  They're very practical.

True and true.

You should definitely be able to talk them down to below $20K (we didn't do a lot of talking, they were heavily marked down for some reason, but I believe we got ours for significantly less than $20K). I know this is also slightly flawed [and subjective] logic, but it's also an outgoing model now... I wouldn't buy one unless i got a really really good deal.

With gas prices what they are, I will heartily disagree with you.  I think a Mazda3i is right up her alley.  Remember, gas prices are projected to get to $3.50 per gallon sometime soon.
