You're boring.  You always buy the same car.  What would you say about a patient who always played it safe by buying the same car all the time?

No offence intended. :ohyeah:

i would discharge the patient, as he would be without any weaknesses or issues whatsoever  ;) !

no offense taken. i know a good thing  !

I really like the overall shape, especially in profile.  It's leaner, more muscular and the back end looks less droopy.  However, like a number of Bangled BMWs, it suffers in the details.  The headlights in particular look terrible and I'm not keen on the hood design.

I don't like the hood design either because it looks misaligned depending on the angle.

It seems like every Japanese car (and the Jag XF) have really similar profiles nowadays.

But, those headlights are funky, and fuck it, I kind of like it.

*crosses fingers*...RWD and stick?

Is FWD and CVT close enough?

I like the headlights but I'm not crazy about the grill.  For some reason, the grill looks too 'economy car.'

I really like the interior.

Seriously, the new 370Z sounds so awesome... smaller car and lighter weight. It'd be a big disappointment if they made it look fugly.

What's so fugly? Is it just the headlights? That is easy to fix.

Dammit 2o6 beat me to it lol. It really does look like that ca wants to cry. "Why do I exist?" :wtf: I like the new Maxima for the most part. It will take me a while to get used to the headlights, but I like the grille and the curvy design is good. Although I have to agree with Catman, something looks wrong with the hood at some angles. The interior is great.

This thing is snazzy. I get the feeling the headlights would grow on me. I was fearing that the Max might end up looking like the Altima too much and I'm glad it never happened.

Wouldn't a RWD Maxima be too close to the G35?

Isn't this bigger?

And I don't know why that's a big concern for Nissan.  If you look at an I35 you can see where they crossed out "Maxima" and penciled in "I35".

Looking at the 2008 Infiniti line-up, the only model that is a 'repencilled' Nissan is the QX56.

I think it's important for Infiniti that they clearly differentiate themselves from Nissan when they launch in Western Europe.  Maybe that it is why the QX56 (which is similar to Nissan Armada) will remain exclusive to North America, Korea, Russia and Ukraine.  That, and fuel prices!

So I doubt we'd see anything like the I35 again in the near future.

They also haven't sold the I35 in like 5 years.  As part of their marketing strategy that went into effect about 5 years ago, Nissan has intentionally made strides to push the Infiniti line away from the offerings in the Nissan line in North America by purposely avoiding selling lux'ed up rebadged North American Nissans as Infinitis.  The only rebadge in their lineup is the QX56.

Yeah, the Maxima is bigger but I still think if it was RWD that it would overlap too much with the G35. Keeping it FWD gives buyers looking to upgrade from midsize family sedans the choice of RWD or FWD.  The way I see it the Maxima took over the spot once occupied by the I35, the Altima took over the spot occupied by the Maxima, and the G35 let them compete in another class. I think over all this was a good move for Nissan. I see the Maxima's competitors as the TL, Passat, and ES350.
