I actually kinda like the RDX.

But it's not a true SUV.  It's a lifted turbo AWD wagon

That thing is HIDEOUS.
And I never thought they could out-ugly the Ridgeline.

Isn't the Pilot car-based as well?

The front definately reminds me of the ridgeline, which is hideous.

No, it's based on its own platform. It is a unit-body construction and not a BOF, but it doesn't share it's platform with any car.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

I don't think so. I think it share the platform with the MDX and that's about it. I could be wrong though.

The current Pilot shares a platform with the old Odyssey and old MDX, and I expect the new one will move along to the current versions of those cars.

I'm almost 100% sure the MDX and Odyssey shared a platform.

It shares platforms with the Odyssey and Ridgeline, which have Accord roots.

The original Odyssey had Accord roots, the current one does not.

No, after being caught once, I'll do my research before I get further along on a subject.

The MDX, Pilot, and Odyssey are built on what Honda calls the "Global Light Truck" platform. The Ridgeline also uses a well modified version of this platform.

You may be right to an extent: there's no absolute definition of what a platform actually is, and I'm sure there are many parts shared; but Honda breaks them down as being on separate platforms and that's good enough for me.

Is the RDX and RL also on this chassis because of their SH-AWD?

Acura claims they are both on their own dedicated platforms. Exactly how "dedicated" those platforms are is a good question.

Too bad it's not on the Accord platform. AWD Accords wouldn't be too hard to make.

The rear 3/4 view is inoffensive, but the front and interior are just horrid. What on earth is going on at Honda these days?
