60k service on my Miata - ballpark figure?

Looks like I'm taking it to a shop. Timing belt + water pump + 60k tuneup + Redline = $850 for parts and labor, the cheapest estimate I could get for _warrantied_ shop work. It also happens to be at the shop closest to my house, lucky me!

I'm really curious to see what Redline does to my gearbox. I'll post my impressions after I get the car back.

A thousand bucks (incl. tax) later...

- Either it's the Redline or it's just having new fluid in general, because my 1-2 shifts are silky smooth now. I'm curious to see how much of a difference it makes when the car is cold.
- High gear / lower RPM behavior is much more civilized, it used to buck back and forth a bit when climbing up hills.
