OK, now that we've gone through the beginner's class on newtonian friction, is somebody going to explain how it is completely impossible for any car to ever run the quarter mile in less than 9 seconds?
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

really? Must have to do something with air friction, but this guy's viper ran 7.996 @ 177.060 in the 1/4 mile.

there are others with really low 1/4 miles, but this is one that I found with a video and a time slip.

I did it in Gran Turismo.  STI with racing tires, 500+bhp and a 100 shot of nitrous!

I read last week that a guy hit 8.9 seconds in a naturally aspirated Mustang GT with a big shot of nitrous.  Fastest time ever for a naturally aspirated Mustang.
