I remember a Superfour shootout in C/D and a guy brought a terbow 2WD Tacoma.

Is it impossible to get a stripped down 4wd model these days? Does anyone make a 4cyl 4wd pickup anymore? I'd take a 4wd 4cyl Ranger. I tried to trade my Jetta for one on two separate occasions, but it didn't work out.

You can get a Ranger 4x4 with the 3.0 turbodiesel I4 (154hp/280lb-ft) in cab chassis, single cab, super cab or crew cab guises.

Of course, you shall have to avoid trying to change gears with the armrest. Oh, and move to Australia.

I would require a 6-speed manual.

Compact 2WD pickup aren't great offroad. But put a mother-in-law in the back and they're fine during the winter. Just remember to take the mother-in-law out so she can defrost.

Alas, I can only offer your 5 speeds of manual or automatic. I could, however, add a sticker that reads '6'.

Oooh I hate that S-10/Sonoma you're parked next to. They're the white-trash fodder equivalent of Civic ricing out here.

Ahahahahahahaha!

That silly thing belongs to my parents. Aside from the wheels, it's stock. It actually looks fine if it's driving at an angle to you, but, yeah, it totally looks lowered. I make fun of them for buying a truck for the purpose of hauling things and driving up forest roads that has, like, an inch more ground clearance than their Malibu. "But it has better gearing!", they say...

That's something that the Ranger gets credit for: If I can get the traction, I have the clearance.

That will suffice.
