Sexy AF for sure. Desmoquattro Duc ownership is scary though. And I was a little disappointed with the SF848. Basically I'm trying to convince myself that an old SV or FZ-07 would be better :(

I feel like if I owned that I would definitely use it like a traditional Ducati - only on Sundays to the local $bux.

Hypermotard looks like a wannabe supermoto (which it is).

Also, in unrelated news, anyone ever consider a Ruckus or other scooter? Seems like it'd be the ideal around town vehicle to get groceries in (for a single guy it's more than enough space) or go to the gym with. I wouldn't wear any gear on one other than a helmet since you don't really go much faster than a bicycle (I used to ride my bicycle faster than a Ruckus's top speed every day). Seems appealing.

Why get a Grom? It doesn't do anything better than the WR. Actually it just does everything worse.

Funny, as soon as I decided I was going to get a bike, I was dead set on a Monster 695/696. Then I remembered how much I like to bitch about ownership/maintenance costs.

Ruckus has a shit ton of cargo capacity that a motorcycle doesn't offer. Perfect for errands and groceries.

??????????????????

1 your DRZ & Miata will get groceries just as well (if not better)

2 didn't you just have like 2 wrecks? Getting hit on a Ruckus will hurt just as bad as on a regular bike

3 how often are you getting groceries

Take that $2000 or whatever and Ohlins/Brembo your track bike.

Looks like they ditched that side shock for a conventional linkage. Reports also say they cut ~35lb from it. Pretty impressive. Will it get a 270 crank though? Price is also a big question mark. Looking forward to see the N version. Still FZ-07 for me.

Well one if the wrecks was at like 2x the top speed if the Ruckus.

As I said, it's not much different than a bicycle IMO. It's ridden in the same way (same roads) and similar speeds

The Ruckus can lane split, gets better mpg and is easier to park than the Miata. It also offers much more storage space than the WR (not DRZ :nono: ), which is none. You can fit a 32 pack under the seat of the Ruckus.

Anywho, it was just a thought. I'd rather spend the money on an Aerostitch.

Nothin' wrong with a scooter.  They're fun to ride and convenient for all the reasons mentioned.  And you only have to put gas in the tank once every decade or so.  Great for beer runs, small-item runs, and just buzzin' around.  Also, they're virtually free to run, as far as the state is concerned.  I paid something like $15 for a 3-year registration sticker on mine and of course, no insurance required.

Big used market.  I'm sure there's a zillion of them for sale in the greater SF area.  Easy/cheap to maintain.......and modify.

I think tank/tail bags are the better moves.

Just out of curiosity, do you just have a natural inclination to disagree with someone on any given topic?

Slipper clutch and quickshifter standard which is cool. New fork as well, but still the same shitty shock and no mention of ABS. Looks like shit IMO.

The last Supersport was basically the same deal, but there was no mistaking it for anything but a Ducati. It was still glaze your underoos hot without the Superbike torture rack ergonomics:
