Oh man that sucks, if I were you I would put like 500miles on it between now and tomorrow. I just took a brief spin in a Cayman S and I though about how much fun you must have in the Boxster. I really like that car probably even more than the Z4 M I just drove.

That's a fabulous idea

I'd like to see Raz get an s2k only to see him sell it a few years later and get a Caddy

Seriously, though, with regards to s2000's, the best thing I can recommend is that you find one with service records, just to save yourself some trouble. And I personally prefer '02+ models for their glass rear window. Other than that, you should be good to go.

Raza, you need to tell your dad to save some money and do the right thing.

Am I really suggesting he get a Volkswagen?

Probably he just went against the Audi because it's German like the Mercedes. He might have liked it but could have also thought that it'd give him similar experiences to those of the Mercedes.

Jag sucked all the way until the late-1990s, and it doesn't help that Tata Motors as a whole scored the lowest on JD Powers Initial Quality Survey of any manufacturer.

He doesn't like British cars (even still if you're looking at JD Powers, the XJ has predicted reliability of 3 stars, the Merc and the Audi 4.5, and the Lexus 5), and he doesn't particularly care for the British people.

Yes, he's slightly prejudiced, but grow up when and where he did, you'd have a bad taste in your mouth as well.

And it's not that I find JD Powers or Consumer Reports generally reliable; they're just all that's out there, and when you want evidence to support your case, you'll find it where you have to.

My brother's car is a piece of shit, and with the recent change in prices, it looks like he's not going to get the CLS after all.  My dad now seems to love Lexus, and is pushing him to get the GS350.  I'm not so convinced yet.  Lexus has yet to earn the benefit of the doubt.  Besides, there's nothing saying that the LS460, while good, is any better than its competitors.  Although, as far as handling, I doubt any of the heavier cars are going to be notably better.  The Jag probably handles a good amount better due to its light weight.

My brother has opened up to two doors, and is now looking at the S5.

Also, we drove the A8 a few years ago, before we had any problems with the S320 or E320.

It's black sapphire pearl; an interesting color.  In low light situations, it looks black, but in the sunlight, it looks like a very dark, deep blue.

I'll have to take my own pictures to really demonstrate it, but I don't know if it will do it justice even then.

In my experience, the A8, S550, and 750 all handle about the same (incredibly well for their size) however, the Jaguar feels the part.  Aside from the light steering, somehow the car manages to feel like a midsize, due in part to the fact that it weighs as much as one.

Anyways, tell yor brother to check out an 08 E-350 with the sports package.  It's a better performing, better feeling, and far better looking saloon than the GS.

Price point is going to be about 15K.  I don't think the Sky Redline will drop to that price in a year.  And, on top of that, the top operation is annoying, and I'd like a little luggage space for weekend excursions.  That's why the Z4 is on the list, and higher than the S2000.  Two days ago, the S2000 was at the top of my list.

But Z4 has a 9 cu ft trunk.  That's rather large for a car that size.

The S2000 is supposed to have 8.

It works quite well but by the time you set it up you could have already parked the car and been in the building. It's a nice pice of technology but not really practical in the real world.

For someone my age, I have a lot of savings, I think.  I could save it, but for what?  I mean, I would save it, but I can't think of any reason to go out of my way to save money.  I'm not getting married (I don't even have a serious girlfriend), and even if I do, I'm not having kids, so I don't have any expensive anchors weighing me down in the near future.  I could buy a house, but why tie myself to a mortgage and one place?

I just don't have any reason to save a whole lot of money when I could take a small loan on a used sports car, pay it off in a year, and then own it for little running costs?
