I almost forgot to post this.

I learned on Thrusday tha the GT isn't quite up to the challenge against the ole 5er- even all banged-up.
This is how it played out- I was at a stop light on US-12 just outside of Niles Mi headed down to South Bend to the Tire Rack to get quotes on snowy's for the 5er.  A guy pulled up with a gold- aka ugly_  07 GT.  I knew he wanted to try me cuz I heard him tell his buddy "let's smoke this guy" - it was about 75 and I had the glass top open.  I turned off the air and waited- at first I didint' think he was trying because he fell back so fast so I took her back to about half.  Then I heard the his tires screach when he shifted into second and was right at my door so I slammed it down.  He very quickly and steadily fell farther and farther behind- at --- mph he was way behind and I quit.  When we got over to my exit at 11th avenue we both got off.  At the next stoplight he pulle dup next to  me and they were just dying laughing and both gave me the thumbs up and he said "Man that's pretty fuckin fast".

Made me feel better about the damaged but still mobile car.  Just wish I'lda had the GTO!

Bahhh.

One little stoplight pull doesn't make a guy a streetracer anymore than going across a state border to buy fireworks makes one a terrorist and a smuggler.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

Oh, and Rohan: you know tirerack delivers and shit, right?

Yeah but they also mount and balance and use inside wheel weights that don't mar the wheel- and - I got to go by myself with no kids in tow.  Erica - on the other hand- doesn't know they deliver.

Shit- I guess I'm a terrorist too cuz I brought home a couple roman candles and a couple of those good box firework jobs for my step-daughter and I to light off.  I think I'll change my name to Ali Bahba Khanazi.

Do you get any sort of deal for doing it that way?

well as fantastic as the mustang is it's no match for a 545.

However lets all give ford a hand for matching the output of a decade old V8 5 series with their new mustang GT.

Tire rack mounts and balances the wheels and tires as well as uses inside weights on everypackage i've ever bought(that was shipped). I just had to jack the car up and change them.

TBR

But if he's not going to buy wheels every time he buys tires. And, if it isn't that far this saves him the delivery charge.

Yeah I can't afford wheels as much as I'ld like to for snowies.  And it was as much about getting some quiet time as it was about actually shopping for tires.

GoCougs

To be fair, a properly-driven '05+ Mustang GT with 5sp MT will walk away from a 545i.

My guess is that either the guy botched the shifts (MT or left it in drive if AT) or wasn't actually racing.

rohan

I have to think he was trying because his engine was pretty loud and he was chirping his tires aweful hard.  But I also use dthe "manual" transmission in the 5er too - not that it helps much if at all.

A current Mustang GT will walk all over a 545i.  Sorry, I don't think the guy knows how to drive.

Raza

Properly driven, the Mustang GT should be faster.  Probably a bad launch.

Seriously? No one else (besides rag) is going to point out that he's a cop and he was racing? Shouldn't he have enough self control to, ya know, not break laws, especially those that make sense, like street racing? No one? Okay... That's all, I guess.

What's the point?  He knows he's a cop.  We know he's a cop.  We know he was racing.  He knows he was racing.

What changes are going to be made?  Is he going to stop racing?  Stop being a cop?  Stop handing out tickets?
