Maybe just barely.

If I can make a Suzuki Samurai do 90, he can make an MGB do 100.

Technically, sports cars don't have convertible tops. But who gives a rats ass. This mofo is definitely a sports car. Like, for a lot of people, this defines sports car. Hell yes.

Hmm?

Roadsters don't have roll up windows, but I don't believe having a folding top disqualifies a car from being a sports car.

And yes, your car is the definition of a sports car.

These cars barely cracked 100 when they were new. It might take 6 miles for it to do 100 mph.

How much does it weigh?  How the hell is it slower than my beastie?

Like, 1800 lbs, I think.

Hamsters, not cylinders.

I've always wanted to see one of those with a Miata drivetrain in them.
I've also thought that would be cool.

It probably has less than 50 hp at the rear wheels.

65 hp when new...

That's 2 more hp than a Samruai, plus it weighs less, has better aeros, and doesn't have 4wd.

If you go for 20% loss at the wheels, I have 88 and 2,700.  You should be quicker.

Hmm, I think I like that idea. I don't have a garage, though.

Top, top frame, side windows, window roll-up hardware... Probably 50-75 lbs, which is decent for a car like this.

Cool car, Psilos!  I hope you enjoy it.  :ohyeah:

And to the folks talking about the Miata drivetrain, I believe GRM performed such a swap successfully, not with a ton of headaches.  I'll have to look through my back issues to get the exact write up.
