They're not killing the CLS. Spyshots of the next generation CLS are already up on Germancarzone.

Really...hmmm...link?

I missed it... what's the change of heart with Benz?

As a show of my general creepiness/obsessiveness (with cars, not with Raza):
1. $30,000+ bill to replace the engine in a '95 S320, that car only had 140k when the engine blew (of course they did not fix the car)
2. Numerous towings of a 2003 S500
3. Numerous problems (mostly small) with a 2002 E320

Is it just me, or does that look exactly the same as the current CLS?

It's the current body on a new chassis for testing.

For a while, I felt as though one of the few who really appreciated the W211 E-Class' lines. Yes, it turned a little blobular and anonymous toward the end of its run but, with this, they've lost the seamlessness of that car.

Depending on how much Mercedes-Benz was able to predict this economic downturn, say, 3 years ago, I wonder how much of this car's more rational, separated design is a calculated attempt to portray a more rational company. Let's face it: the smooth, "easy" feeling is gone from the middle market, and probably will be for a while. Ostentatious elegance is definitively out, unless you're shopping in the stratosphere.

I'm expecting this to grow on me, but I can't imagine I'll like it quite so much as I did the W211, in that teutonic, ice-cold blue.
