For some reason I read the title at "600+ hp Camaro".  I'm pleasantly surprised however.

I'm really starting to like the ZR-1.

M/T has a similar comparo - ZR1, 599 GTB, 911 GT-2, GT-R.

ZR1 finished first as well by objective measures, but it was stated it was no Ferrari or Porsche, and that it still isn't as good a car to drive by non-objective measures.

I would still take a Viper out of that group.

Unless I had enough money for both the Viper and the Murci

Depending on price, that could be a good deal.

If you are willing to forego HP you can get some much better cars. Interesting comparo though.

I don't think I'd want a 600 hp car.  But to be honest, if I had to pick one as a DD, I'd get the Mercedes-Benz.  It just seems like the most user-friendly.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

keep this issue so 10 years from now you can remember what the muscle car era part II was all about

my pick would be the merc because I happen to love its "cartoonish" styling

The Mercedes just seems like such a compromise. What is it trying to be? Is it a luxo-cruiser, is it a high-hp bruiser, is it a track toy you drive home? The answer is varying levels of "yes" and "no." With the ZR-1 and Viper, you know you're getting a focused sports car. With the Murci you know you're getting something, simply put, that is bat-shit crazy. I think I'd be more drawn to the the 600 or regular 65 if I wanted a Benz of this nature, because I'd get almost the same power with more refinement, which is what I'd look for in a Mercedes.

Yea the SL seems a bit confused as do a few AMGs. I think there is an AMG R-class.

Viper?  Over an LP640?

It's the car here that I'm most likely to spend money on, but if given the choice for free, I'm taking the Lamborghini every time.

I said for me, personally, because when it comes to a daily commute, I don't want hassle.

Here's how I'd rank them if I were buying:
1) Benz
2) Lambo
3) Vette
4) Viper

Obviously, I wouldn't pick them on credentials.  I just don't think I'd ever be able to use 600 hp well.

I promised myself 18 years ago that I would own a Viper one day.
