Wouldn't the 572 be a bit bigger and heavier?

Chevy or Merlin? Maybe it would be, but it could also be as much as 3 to 400 HP more powerful.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

I love how my sarcastic comment about an engine's "styling" is turning into a serious debate.   :praise:

Nope.

There's no replacement for displacement.

In that case, I present to you the world's largest engine. Ain't she pretty?

but I thought this was the largest engine in the world on the Emma Maersk?
Or is it the same one?

Now that is one sexy piece of machinery.

"Think the overhead cam, 4 valve, aluminum engine in your current car is trick?   It might be, but that stuff has been around along time and was standard in the Ford engines used in the Sherman tank if WW II. The1100 cu. in engine manufactured by Ford Motor Company is an all aluminum 60 degree V-8 with dual overhead cams, 4 valves per cylinder, dual carbs, dual magnetos, and hemispherical combustion chambers."

I don't think it anymore. I think the Hyundai K98MC-12 has that honor at this point.

What was that intended for?

Just got picture happy.
Now that I look at it, that isn't even right.   :nutty:
They either threw a NON-OEM tranny on the end or have them NEXT to each other.
(NO, that' isn't a SHO tranny...)

The MOTOR IS STILL BEEYOUTIFUL, DAGNABIT!!

No, they're clearly mated up. Somebody is using a SHO motor in a RWD application for smething...

Looking at the URL of that picture and going through the site that hosts it, it's a SHO engine bolted to a Ford Ranger 5-speed for use in a Locost.

I have half of that combination, already.

Unfortunately, it's the half that's inexpensive and easily obtainable.
