I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

Ugh, I shuddered when I saw that.  The headlights and hood scream Sebring.  Gross.

Yeah, I'm really liking Subaru less and less.  But it seems most new cars are getting uglier, so we might as well get used to it.  Mazda3 and Mazda6 come to mind, as do the VW Jetta and Passat, and the current crop of BMWs and Saabs.  IMO, of course.

The aftermarket is for people who think Subarus are too ugly, have too soft of suspensions, not enough b00st, etc.

I really do wonder what the JDM market is getting for a Legacy.

Yeah, boosted engines have lots of options on the aftermarket, as do suspensions.  But you can't fix ugly.

I don't hate it, and I'll probably like it in a month.

When they mentioned the "Subaru Shudder," I got a chuckle.  Drive an Old World Subaru and you'll completely understand.

Angry headlights, maybe.

But who the fuck checked off those wheel arches? I thought the new S-Class' were bad.

Blecch. What a shame. On the upside, a handsomely-cramped current model will be a bit cheaper this time next year, which is a good thing.

Unless they shrunk the Legacy since the square-headlight generation, it's never seemed that cramped to me.

After a couple of 2500+ mile round trips in the backseat of my parent's '04 Outback, I'd disagree.

68_427

My mom has an '04 Outback and it only gets a little tight if my dad is driving.  Unless the sedan had more legroom.

It was never huge, and I do think at the very least the rear seat shrunk in 2005, perhaps the entire interior. That was when they first tried to position it as a sports sedan.

I wouldn't call it ugly, but I would call it rather uninspired.

In the driver's seat it's fine, but I'd never be able to fit behind myself. That's acceptable, mind you, because I wouldn't be buying one for the sake of passengers, and it keeps the exterior dimensions down to a more manageable size. In a general sense, though, it probably doesn't make best use of the space it has.

Looking like a slightly angrier Holden Epica, in itself a slightly overstuffed caricature of a normal car, is not a good thing.

the Teuton

Mark my words:  This slightly blander, slightly more generic Legacy will sell much better than the outgoing model in the states.

This is why you don't give 9% of the company to Toyota.

I still don't hate it, though.
