I was prepared to facepalm the fuck out of this thread, but that's actually kinda cool.  The headlights are ridiculous, but otherwise, it's pretty good.

You're making things up. This looks nothing like a Fiat 500.

Yet another example of badge snobbery from Madman.

ChrisV

I actually really like the looks. I'd like to see how that single door opens...

Too bad it'll have Chinese build quality.

if even South Korea can go from building crap in the '80s to some seriously well built cars now, why can't China, with it's supposedly significant manufacturing base, put together a car that's actually built well?

Nor did he say it did.

What he said was "Looks like they crossed a Fiat 500 with this....[a little tykes car] And maybe he is right, maybe he is wrong, but the badge has nothing to do with his opinion on the way this car looks.

On second thought, I've been looking at this car more and more, and I actually kinda like it.  On the other hand, that curvy vagina-mouthed thing seems to be getting uglier, but perhaps that's because I cannot look at it, for fear that my penis will shrivel up and die.

Look at the rear pillar and the back of the side windows.  Call me crazy (Go on, I know you want to...  ) but I see a little bit of Fiat 500 in the shape of the rear end.

Is it not okay to draw a comparison between two cars anymore?

It's perfectly ok to draw comparisons. And it's perfectly ok to RESPOND to those comparisons.

it's like the old VW Vortex threads were everything was compared to the Audi TT. it got to the point where somebody woudl make yet another retarded comparison to the Audi TT and we'd post this:

HOLY SHIT! GOD COPIED THE TT!!!!

It also looks like a new xb in the rear roofline, or even a SOUL. And it looks like a '30s Austin Bantam, or '33 Ford Victoria.

In the pics Madman provided, the Geely has a squared off rear quarter window, while the Fiat has an arched round one. The top of the Geely's side window is pretty straight, while the Fiat is curved heavily. The Geely looks like a parallelogram, while the Fiat looks like an arch.

I mean, they look no more alike that Jackie Chan looks like Christian Bale. A couple eyes, a couple ears, a nose, one head, placed approximately the same place on a bipedal body...

Sadly, no they don't. outside of the number of wheels and lights, 99% of the styling is different. Only a little bit at the base of the rear side window is similar, and that only superficially.

Just because one line has a slight curve and the other a slight kink =/= OMG THEY LOOK LIKE THEY CAME FROM DIFFERENT PLANETS!!!

Of course there are differences. Obviously they aren't identical.

And conversely, because one has 1% the same design as another =/= "OMG! THEY LOOK THE SAME!!!!!!!"

If you can interpret a couple bits of a couple of the lines on the one to equate the lines on another, then you must think that all blacks look the same.

I didn't say they look the same. I said there's a resemblence, and it's not a retarded comparison. The differences you pointed to in the window sillouette look like two takes on the same theme. Their profiles are very similar. Their cabins are placed in the same spot relative to their wheelbases. They share similar overhangs.

Then every car in every category looks like every other car in any similar category. Hmmm.

It's like saying "that Silverado looks like they crossed a Ram with an F150."

Quoteow, you really are a fucking douchebag. Piss off, you pathetic little bitch.

Fuck off.

It's a fucking CAR. It'll have a similar number of wheels, lights, glass openings. It's small so it'll have similar overhangs and wheel placement. SO EFFING WHAT? SAYING it does shows lack of brainpower, just like saying all blacks look alike would be lack of brainpower. Toriginal statement wasn't said as an interesting note on how design languages converge, but as a way to be an insulting dick about an inanimate object, primarily because 206 posted it. And it's my fucking right to respond to that.
