It's got a pretty high displacement, right?  High displacement V6s sounds good, but in a weird way, kind of like the VQ.  That power in the V6 makes it a really attractive option over the V8s, honestly.  I know the 0-60 is only about 6 seconds, but the handling has to be better than the V8 with all that extra weight on the nose.

And the SS's ugly fake bumper hood scoop is annoying.

I guess I am the only one who finds modern VQ's to sound like worked over ricer motors.

That being said, after seeing two V6's in person, close up, I'm rather pleased with how they turned out.  However, The Challenger looks far better, and as for the actual car I would personally buy, it would likely be the Mustang GT.

Being completely honest, if I were to buy a car in this class, it would be an S197 GT convertible, used, of course.  The new one just doesn't grab me the way the S197 did.  (By the way, does anyone know the chassis code for the 10s?)

Of what's on sale now, it has to be the Challenger.  I'd break the piggy bank for the SRT 6 speed manual.

I've noticed alot of other V6 motors starting to sound a little like the VQ; I'm starting to think that the "natural" sound of a DOHC V6 is a flat nasaly note like the VQ.

But I've heard one new V6 Camaro and one new CTS with their engines racing, and they both have this somewhat aggressive high-pitched "tuner" sound that you wouldn't expect from a GM V6. I still haven't heard my own car from the outside, so I'm starting to wonder what it sounds like. AFAIK, it sounds like a Corvette and 350Z racing from far away.

Chassis code would still be S197.  It was a refresh, not a ground up redesign.

After you wake up with the sun at 6am on someone's floor, coughing up cigarette butts and tasting like warm beer, you may well change your opinion on this matter.

Yesterday, I saw a Challenger R/T on the freeway. It's definitely got some presence, but the damn thing barely looked any smaller than the Chrysler 300 next to it, and definitely bigger than my car. Heck, it looked like it rode higher than my car on 20"s ... and speaking of rimz, the 18"s on the R/T looked small enough that I would have thought it was a base model if not for the "R/T" graphic on the front fender.

That said, I'd be all over a Challenger with a more stylish interior. And while I'm dreaming, a pillarless roof with a rear quarter window that rolls down.

The Accord is a revelation compared to a Camry, sure.  I just think the idea that someone who likes to drive cars (supposedly) thinks that steering feel and feedback (steering being one of the main controls of the car) is irrelevant to the driving experience is absolutely ludicrous.

But it's a muscle car. Steering isn't as important as going fast in a straight line.

I saw a V6 one yesterday.

Honestly that thing needs bigger wheels. They didn't fill out the fenders whatsoever.

I agree with that. I'm not a fan of them.

I only like the SRT8 models. The others just look like cheap base models (which they are).

MT, in their last pony car comparo, had a sidebar about the V6 Camaro.  It's pretty quick, like you said not blazing but faster than most cars, and they claimed it handled directional changes better with less weight over the nose.

It's definitely the one I'd buy.  I wonder how much weight the convertible will gain.

The Mustang and Camaro are pony cars (originally the sport compacts of their day), steering does matter.
