Unless it loses some horsepower to run on regular instead of premium.

The Lincoln variant already runs on regular.

5500 sold with people waiting years for the camaro to finally come out, there was certainly a sizable population waiting for a GM ponycar.
Hopefully, it continues to sell well.

They would have sold more if they could have made more. They sold every car available I believe.

So no one's STILL gonna explain the lead weights added to Camaro Brembo calipers?  What else about the new Camaro are you ashamed of--besides gross (figuratively & literally) vehicle weight, fraying battery cables, cracking fascias, phallic shiftlevers, instruments mounted behind the shiftlever, square brassiere cups housing the instruments, yada yada yada...?  Four years in the making, and the best they could do was this?

Shouldn't you be out having sex with some Ford exhaust pipe?

It's rated at 274 hp as a Lincoln engine, so I expect it will be at least that in the Mustang.  Don't forget, even though the V6 Mustang will be down by about 25 hp or less, the Camaro weighs about 300 lbs more.  As well, the 2011 Mustang GT will be 400 hp (all but confirmed by Bill Ford's slip of the tongue on CNN the other night) and it will still weigh 300 lbs less then the 422 hp Camaro.

Oh yea, I'm fully aware of the nice weight advantage the Mustang has, it's a nice plus the mustang has over the competitors. But I really do like the V6 they got in that Camaro, it's shown very very good response from mods. Like the corsa exhaust and intake on the same V6 in the CTS I think dynoed a 30hp and 20tq increase over stock, that's pretty good considering the V6 is already 304hp/273tq @ fly.  I mean with the exhaust and intake it puts the engine in range of the 4.6 V8.

I'm hoping the new mustang V6 will be just as modable.

Was the 30hp gain from the exhaust and intake upgrade for the 304 hp version of the 3.6 or was it from the 263 hp version?  The CTS is offered with both.

I'm conflicted on this.

Part of me desperately wants a new Camaro, another part of me wants nothing to do with any nationalized industry. I feel like one of Islamic guys you see propping up the bar at Heathrow, knocking back a couple of stiff ones before heading back to Riyadh.

As said previously it looks like a toy car, which is not something I want to buy. I was really underwhelmed to see it my first time.

I saw one sitting at a stoplight. I couldn't help but thinking that it just looked goofy, not beastly at all.

The first new Camaro I saw on the road was kind of like seeing Britney Spears in real life. At first, it's kind of cool, but since you've seen it/her online and in magazines for years, the luster isn't quite as much as say, the first time I saw a 350Z on the road back in 2002. That was like seeing an up-and-coming supermodel in real life during that time.

Buy the Mustang.  It handles about as well or better in some situations, it looks better, and Ford hasn't sold out to Barry yet.  Live by your principles and experience the hedonistic side of life.

Just wait till that 400horse version comes out and you're set.

Well, look at it this way.  The Camaro is probably the last car built and designed by GM without any white house "advice".  What better way to say fuck you than by buying the most politically incorrect car they offer.

Sigma Projects

I guess I'm in the minority as I love the way it looks on the road. Stands out so much among the other cars, even in black.

How does that thing turn without rubbing like crazy?

And that picture makes the windows look especially small.

I really don't think it can turn, unless they removed the inner fender liners, and even then...

And with wheels that oversize EVERYTHING looks especially small...

It looks like it'd catch the fenders every time you turn the wheel.

I don't know why, but those wheels make the car look less sharp.

Okay.  I'll take a stab at this one.  Fraying Battery Cables?  Isn't that more a supplier issue?  The fascia that cracked was preproduction if memory serves correctly.  The lead weights, are only apparent on Brembo equipped models - so wouldn't that mean that Brembo is at fault, and not GM since they manufactured the calipers? All the other things are subjective, though my question is, why do you dislike the car so much?

Nethead has immense issues reconciling the media/market buzz and performance of the Camaro.

And qik is right - he's posted that same diatribe for what seems like at least a dozen times.
