I think hatches are measured under a different standard.

Hatches and wagons are indeed measured using a different scale.

Right because the large cargo capacity would give them an unfair advantage.  Which is exactly why the Taurus's full size rating is misleading, because its cargo capacity is nearly the same as the Scion XB's, and its interior room is similar too.

Of course, you can use the Taurus's full trunk capacity without blocking your rear view.

And you get almost the same interior space (where people sit) and MORE rear leg room in the XB in a package that is 35.6 inches shorter.

My bro is considering a used G8 to replace his Tahoe. I told him that they're on the cheap since they're not selling well.

last i checked the G37 is not a fullsize car while the SHO is -shrug-

If that's what I wanted, then I'd get a Hyundai Genesis V8 sedan:

14.0s / 103mph 1/4-mile
62.6 mph slalom
$37,250 base price
109 ft? passenger volume (2009 Taurus has 108 ft?)

I would much rather have a Genesis V8.

Testdrive a Volvo-based Taurus, you Volvo/Hyundai troll.
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

heh, on carsdirect, you can get a V8 Volvo S80 for cheaper than the as-tested price of the SHO.

CJ

And that's exactly what I would do.  The S80's V8 sounds so good.

Infiniti M35 for me, or Genesis V8 with lots of $$$ in the bank.

Depending on price, that could be a good deal.

Oh.

Well then a test drive would be in order, but I'd still take the Genesis with either engine over the Taurus.

Since CJ mentioned the Gensis V8 and Rags mentioned an M35, would it be out of line for me to take a CPO '07 550i?

I thought it was based on the Holden Commedore. I didn't realize that it was based upon the Vauxhall/Opel Omega.

Sigh-
I'm officially disappointed in the new SHO.

What made the original an awesome car was the performance vs. sticker price.

The fastest 4-doors in the world now are the CTS-V, Panamera, and Continental Flying Spur.  The quickest are the CTS-V, S65 AMG, and probably some kind of tie between the E63, M5, M3, and RS6.

Times changed a little.

It's a little different these days.  Ford would have had to put 600 hp in this thing to get it anywhere near the fastest 4 door sedans...and torque steer would have been a bitch.
