Occasionally, just don't expect me to whore it up as much as I used to.

Need pics of the Rodeo off road.  One of my brother's friends just got one, and she was over at my parents' house Saturday while I was home.  Hers was black (and automatic), but it's a really sharp looking vehicle.

Yours has power windows and all that type of stuff?  Leather?

And I've never had moose (had elk steaks), I'll have to try it sometime.

Mine has very few options. PW, PL, but no leather, and no limited slip.

Moose is like venison. Tasty, tender and super lean. Mmm.

Rodeo. I never thought I'd want one, or like one. But there it was, so what the hell, right?
One of the last true SUV's - a real truck wagon; and since it's not American, it's not a completely unrefined, dumpy box of shit on wheels, but it's still a truck. The interior is basic, but well assembled, logical, comfortable and with nearly 87k on the clock, there is not a single squeak or rattle - unlike a truck. The suspension is compliant and has plenty of travel, but the little imperfections still send jitters all through the body - like a truck. The shifter has long throws - like a truck, however, the clutch is smooth and easy - unlike a truck. The steering is light, but quite accurate with good feedback, and brake pedal is firm and linear - unlike a truck. The least trucky thing about it, though, has to be that all-aluminum DOHC 24V V-6 engine. Maybe I've been driving old shit-boxes for too long, but I have been seriously impressed by the Rodeo's engine. Off road, it can happily idle along in 1st gear, in both high and low ranges, and because of that, it is just as easy and mindless to drive as any automatic-equipped truck (such as a Dakota or a Pathfinder (lolz)). On the open road, it will silently cruise up most hills in 5th gear without any need to downshift, but drop it down a gear or two, and prepare to be rewarded with some kind of exotic super growl that has no place in a cheap truck, and more power than should ever be allowed in a vehicle of this type - subdued muscle-car sounds, with subdued muscle-car performance to match. Did I mention that the air-conditioning works? Yes.
