When I have one over that I've never been to their house I'll at least try but the other 2 I know they can either eat what we've got or they can just eat sides I really don't care.  they've pulled that crap on me but I don't stand for it- that road goes both ways.  Since they're not great friends anyways mostly wife's old college friends I couldn't care less if they get mad.  Or they can bring their own stuff and I'll be happy to throw it one th BBQ with everything else.

I can't stand it.  Abstainers all can stuff their false high ground.

I even know a vegetarian who will simply not eat at another person's house if they cook meat in the same kitchen/grill/stove/et al because they find it unclean.  So if I grill eggplant on the same grill that I make steaks, even if they don't touch the same rack, the eggplant's unclean.

Anyone ever heard that comedian talking about vegitarians and how they want you to eat their food at their house but expect you to have their food when they come to your house?  I'll try to find it.  I don't even know the guys name

I won't eat food that's cooked on the same grill as meat. When I say I don't want to eat meat, I don't want ANY meat on my food. That's not unreasonable at all, Raza. I won't bitch and cry about it, I just won't eat the food.

And yeah, I'm not for forcing my views on others.

Juices, fat.

When I mean same grill, I mean the same exact tray or whatever. If I have, lets say, a portabella mushroom on one tray on a grille, and a steak on another tray, I'll eat it.

Uh, no.

So lets say you grill a steak on a grill, you're saying that there aren't any juices from that steak remaining on the grill? And then if I put, lets say, an eggplant, on that exact same spot on the grill, it would be completely free of any of those juices?

If you heat a grill and clean it with a brush (like Tave posted), then all the remnants of any previous cooking will have dripped into the grease trap or have been burnt or scrubbed off.  Like others have mentioned, I always clean my grill after use.  I'll use a brush, then the preheating before the next cooking would burn off anything that might be left.

Tony taught me a couple cool tricks- warm up the grill but not hot then spray on the grills some Pam for Grills- when your done grilling and before youturn it off- hit it with one of those brushes and then take a rough towel/rag and that's wet but not soaked and go over the hot grills by scrubbing it just a bit.  Keeps it clean without a lot of work.

They have Pam specifically for grills?  I should check that out.  I use a separate fish/vegetable rack for fish and vegetables, and I always pull that off the main burners when heating the grill, and I soak it with Pam.  Pam burns up, but it keeps the fish from sticking and on scallops, you get a nice little glaze.

I used to brush clean my grill before and after grilling, but now I just do before, because I got lazy, and well, I grill a lot of my meals.  I do warm the grill first, though, as that makes the crap easier to get off of the slats.

I've used it and see little difference between it and PAM; don't waste your money.   I buy the store brand cooking spray.  It's the same stuff as Pam, works as well and costs half as much.

I light the charcoal let it burn down and brush the grill just before I put the meat on.  By then the residue is pretty well burned off and the wire brush just removes the hardened, incinerated stuff.  Every so often I fire up the pressure washer and really clean the grills on both sides.

I understand not eating meat but not eating food because there might be a tiny bit of it there is kind of silly IMO.

No matter, that's your decision. As long as people don't tell me what to eat I'm OK.

My mom and my brother are like that. If I'm eating meat, my brother will try to guilt me into not eating it. :rage:
