Does anyone else dislike the IS Convertible?

It looks wrong, top up and top down. The G vert' looks great top down, and kinda bad top up. The IS convertible looks wrong at every angle.

Also, I absolutely HATE the ads for it. What do they even mean?

I'm not a huge fan, but it isn't that ugly.

It'll sell like hotcakes.

They're both ugly.  I'll GLADLY pay more for the BMW.

Ro is right; I wouldn't be surprised if the IS-C becomes what the BMW E30 convertible was in the 1980's.

In the one with the two girls running on the Colorado Blvd bridge, the first girl the guy drives by is his angry ex. The second girl is his new mistress.

In the one with the helicopter, the couple finds a hiding spot to run from someone chasing them in, well, a helicopter.

I have no idea what the one is about where the mob is chasing the one guy without shoes.

It looks wrong in so many ways, I just can't quite pin point what I don't like about it.. I just don't.

I liked the IS300, and even the current IS sedan isn't bad. The 1998-2000 LS400 was also rather elegant, IMO.

The Supra died in 1997 (here, at least), and I consider it attractive.

The last Supra was an overpriced, overweight, overhyped blob.

It sure was a fast, good handling, and rather good looking blob.

I'll take an A5.

The A5 Convertible isn't great looking, but it's nothing like as bad as the IS-C.  Though I've only seen one Convertible A5 and no IS-Cs yet, so maybe time will tell.

The 328iC is an elegant car.  It was one of the few drop-dead gorgeous, sophisticated, wonderful 3ers in this generation I actually really liked.  But it had nothing to do with the driving character of the car.  It was a boulevard cruiser at best.  The IS350C costs the same as the 328i, comes with more equipment, and will generally have the same driving dynamics at "normal" levels of driving.  The IS250 will cost even less.

If Lexus can give the same kind of atmosphere BMW provided for less money, it, indeed, should sell like hotcakes.

From what I've read, the G has been softened a ton, though.  That's a little disappointing.

IS convertible? I did not know there was such a thing.

Coincidentally I didn't know Infiniti made a G37 convertible until I saw one in the flesh last week.

Minpin

If you haven't seen one of these in person, GTFO. It honestly looks ridiculous in person. It is styled in such a way to no self respecting man can ever buy it. Not like the BMW 3 vert, it doesn't look half bad.

The IS C though just reminds me of a Solara.

I wouldn't touch an impractical convertible that pretends to be practical.

Due to the one thing they all have in common that they pretend is a good idea but is, in actuality, crap.

Just another awkward looking retractable hardtop convertible.  I think the only one that I don't think looks strange with the top up is the Volvo C70.

The G37 actually looks good.

The IS looks awful...worse than the Pontiac G5 hardtop, which up until recently was the ugliest hardtop convertible on the road.

Am I the only one who still prefers a softtop? With the exception of the SL and XLR there's not many hardtop verts that I like.

I think the Mercs (SLK and especially SL) look ok, but otherwise I agree.  Although the Volvo is not blameless: the rear overhang is totally out of proportion with the short nose.

Hachee

The SL and SLK look good, and now the Z4.  But the only 4 passenger hardtop convertibles that look good are the 3, which took a little time to grow on me, and the G (top down).  I can't believe how bad the IS looks, and I actually like the looks of the sedan.  But you guys in Europe have it worse - all those cheaper models like the Peugeot 308 (?) look terrible.

I have yet to see one, but I think the IS will sell okay due to price, content, name.

Is there even an IS350C?

Why is Lexus offering an IS250C (aka DOG SLOW [according to Carspin forum standards]) and no IS350C?

There is no IS350C in the UK, just like there is no IS350 or RX350.
