I dunno, I'm still wondering if this is another case of a fake Porsche, or if Magneto here broke the digital camera or something.

I find it hard to believe that he can never get pics onto his computer. He could use a library computer if need be and plug his camera/ card reader into that.

Back to the original topic: pics please!

You know what would be even better? A video of you doing a full throttle run with good quality audio.

I can barely get pictures to work.  Video would likely result in death, via exploding camcorder, or me crashing while shifting and holding the camera!

Why hasn't Sub replied?

Shit I forgot about those.

I should have them up shortly.  I ended up bringing the iMac to the Apple store to check to make sure no electrical damage was done, and the power company is coming tomorrow to check out my house/incoming power lines.  In any event, I'll get them by tomorrow night or Sunday morning at latest.

Not that they're special.  I have two shots of the car, one with a trash bag covering the license plate (how ghetto is that?) and one with me giving the thumbs up next to the gear lever.

In the meantime, I saw a C4S coupe yesterday.  That car is almost as good as the 993, if the smile on my face were to be believed.

The 997s look really nice.

I see where you're coming from.  A late model 993 is a fantastic looking car.  They took a dive with the 996, IMO, and only with the late model 4S, Turbo, and GT3's did they look good.  The 997 took a massive leap forward in terms of design, IMO.

I was driving behind a early model 996 Cab yesterday, and to be honest, it looked rather plain.  Though I don't particularly like the way the convertibles look, my dads 911S looks special.  The 996 did not.

I agree entirely, though oddly enough I am not sure that from a styling perspective I don't prefer the 964 over the 993.

Same.  When I was in high school, I lusted after the 993.  Never really cared for the looks of the 964 and earlier cars.  Now, I love the 964, and really like the earlier ones too.  I mean, I'm still quite fond of the 993, but I might be more likely to buy a 964.

964s can be had a lot more cheaply, but the 993 is faster and they are generally in a lot better condition. It would be a hard decision.

I don't know; the 993 seems to get a lot of love for being the last air cooled Porsche, and the 996 gets a lot of hate for being the first liquid cooled one.  I like the 996.  A lot.  Especially post facelift, and when gussied up (Turbo form looks amazing).  I wouldn't hesitate to buy an early 996 for half the price of an early 993.

However, the 964, to me, is the pinnacle of the 911.  Classic styling, but still a modern car.  The 964 is the 911 I'd buy to drive on the weekends, but I'd definitely get a 996 if I wanted something that would be less maintenance intensive.

Bad news:  The utility company is coming back tomorrow...to work on the power lines (apparently neighbors have had issues as well, though none as serious as mine)

Real bad news:  I'm too tired to post them tonight.  Tomorrow it is!

Liar Liar, pants on fire, hang your booty on a telephone wire. Not that I actually care though. It's just another Porsche and I've raced in the local Porsche club. Nice cars though.

993's are super pimp, but the 968's hold a place in my heart. Dude in the club had one and it could walk that track easy. Crazier was this older 944 Turbo(S2), not a big fan but a couple of those bastards could dust off a ton of cars.
You see what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps?!!
