That HU looks exactly like mine.

When did you install yours?  I'm merely trying to find out how much time Teuton has before his engine asplodes and the car is sidelined for a year.

lulz.

My brother shoved a book into the glove compartment in NY. The glove compartment latch jammed somehow, and I had to take a crow bar to it. So I'll need to invest in a new one of those eventually. All I have right now are service records in there, so it's no biggie.

LOL. It's all good. White is rare in these parts. This ugly-ass teal is probably the most common color I've seen for the first gen next to maroon and gold. It keeps clean pretty well, though, so I don't mind it.

Also, Tuesday -- today -- will be my 10,000-mile anniversary with this car. For the record, that'll be 10,000 miles in 10 2/3 months, or just about 11,246 miles for the year if I keep up this average. The title says I bought it with 103,369 miles on it on August 29 of last year.

QuoteBTW, why did my car have air conditioning and yet it really has no other options? It has manual seats, windows, door locks, mirrors, and no cruise control. It's spartan, yet it has air con.

My friends SL is optioned the same way, and he even put in the same HU!

Strange. I thought they were all the nasty teal color (Tueton's) or that dark red almost brown color.

Yeah, my old sedan was burgundy/red. I've seen quite a few silver/grayish ones too.

Redlined it twice yesterday. Actually it got past redline and I eased off since it didn't seem like it was going to shift.

Your car must think a redline is a myth since it's never seen it before.

If it didn't waste more oil than BP has in the Gulf, I'd probably have tried it by now. It saw just under 4,500 RPM today. What is redline for our cars? I haven't really checked.

You might not want to do that too often and too vigorously. Google "Saturn differential pin" to see why.
