I have been driving pretty rudely, and I don't get on the freeway at all.

Good mileage is for pussies.

I will, however, have to beat both of those. This tank I think I shall aim for 37 mpg all on suburban and back roads. Next tank shall be 19 mpg.

And then there won't be a third tank because the parking brake you left on during the second tank will have given up and the car will just roll off toward the great big service center in the sky.

Actually I was just thinking of leaving it in neutral at stop lights and revving the crap out of it.

I knew there was slop in my shifter -- mostly from the factory. But after toting around a 1998ish Civic for a short while, I realize GM made shit for shifters. It's easy to drive, but it's just...so...sloppy...

That said, I like my clutch better than that Civic's. The engagement point on that thing was tiny.

And I will be coming back to Ohio this weekend. 2o6, wanna race? I'll be back all weekend.

Geeze, 12,000 miles? I've put on a little over 6,000.

During the summer, I've been driving about 250 miles per week. During the school year, I was looking at just under 100 a week with my commute to go car wash.

Factor in three 1,000-mile trips to New York (and Connecticut for one of them) and going back to Ohio once in a while, and it all adds up.

I bought my car in March of 2008 with 86something on it. I just rolled over 130,000 last week. Granted that's not on the original engine but still...

Sadly, my Saturns seem to suffer death by way of Grand Am after about a year and change of ownership. Maybe God wants me to own another brand of car.

Nevar! If a Saturn is treating you well, then there's no reason to go elsewhere. ;)

I finally passed 12,000 miles coming back to Ohio a few days ago for my sick time. I had the oil changed at Wally World, and they did a remarkably professional job with the car. No regrets there.

They did say, however, that there was an oil leak (which I knew about) and a transmission leak (which I didn't). The car runs just fine though.

I've driven over 500 miles in the past 6 days (basically go out cruising every night after work, plus a couple of long drives last weekend), so yeah, definitely possible.

I read an article a couple years back where someone tried their hardest to get an H2 have a higher MPG over a given route than a Mini Cooper. The guy kept the Mini in low gears, revved it at stop lights and while cruising, full throttle up to cruising speed, etc., and the Mini still got better mileage.

What a friend said to me about my toggle switch: "That sounds amazingly ghetto...but it's ingenious!"

That seems to be a dumb fix. Typically the coolant temp sensor also controls the rad fan, too. It's responsible for making sure it turns on and off properly. Did he replace this when he looked at it the first time?

He looked at 3 or 4 different sensors, and they did nothing. Then, he tested the ECU and found out that it wasn't registering the temp.

Having exhaust is a good thing, but does it have to stick out that far? I'm wondering how long it will be before you bang your shin on it unloading something from the trunk.
