Mid to high 30s? For a lightly used 3.0T? I don't know....

They have a brand new one in the show room for $44k.  I'm sure with some poking around I could find one with 5 to 15k miles in that range.  It's a buyers' market out there!

Really?

I saw one at our dealership for $49k, $44k for a 3.0T isn't a bad deal at all.

I wonder how much a 2010 S4 will cost in 2012....

I just ran an AutoTrader and came up with a bunch of '07 S4's with <20k miles ranging from $33k to $40k so you could assume about the same in 3 years for a 2010.  I checked out '09 A6's and came up with a really loaded '09 with 6,000 miles for $43,800.  I guess I'd have to modify my price range to read upper $30's - not mid.  Still not too bad!

Possibly less, even. The B8 S4's cheaper than the B6 and B7 were. If I could find one around $30k, that could work really nicely.

Was this thread inspired by me?

Anyway, for those who weren't reading my thread, I'd get a '99 Miata with roughly 92,000 miles on it for $5950.

Still might, actually.

Somewhat. It's also something I think about regularly for myself.

I think the B8 S4 might actually hold its value better then the absolutely horrendous gas guzzling B6 and B7 S4's did... the B8 gets almost 2.0T gas mileage

Local Mazda dealer has a leftover '09 Touring (listed as used, but it's only got 3 miles, not sure if they registered it as a demo or something) that I was seriously toying with the idea of buying, but that kind of mileage is enough to nix that.  Of course, for the price they're asking I could likely afford to keep the 3 as a daily driver and just have the RX for fair-weather motoring.

$23.8K.  Basically the new price minus the 4K rebate that Mazda offered on '09s, so there's certainly bargaining room to go lower.  If it's been registered (and thus truly used), then some of the warranty is gone and I could potentially use that as leverage to cut the price further still.

OMG, good deal.. maybe I should get another Rx8.. hmm, I really miss having a Rotary... UFO sound is cool!

I'd get the same thing I have right now, another '01-'04 Tacoma, if I totaled my truck (which is just what I did when I did total it 3 years ago!).

If the Subaru was totaled, I'd get an '09 LGT instead of the regular 2.5i.

Yea but those guys literally make close to twice the horsepower of your motor... the sacrifice... is justified

Hmm...A newish miata or solstice or sky...I find myself wanting a Wrangler a lot nowadays as well. I also feel like a truck would be great for certain occasions.

I'd be looking for a Ford Ranger, most likely.  Somewhat easy to find in a manual transmission, and reliable/durable enough for my needs.

Yeah, 14/21 is pretty bad, though when I was driving my moms Grand Cherokee while the Accord was in the shop, I only averaged about 17.5 mpg with maybe 75% highway driving. If I had to choose between that car and an S4, you know I'd choose the S4 every time.
