Plastic intake manifolds do not $375k cars have. I think someone is yanking our chain.

Plastic intake manifolds are fine.  Don't let the NABISCO fanbois fool you.

3,263 pounds! 3,263 pounds with a nice interior AND a V10 under the hood!!!

That is fairly decent by today's standards.

Raza

After seeing the new photos Hemi posted, I must say I need to amend my previous statement.

This car is fucking hot!

It's funny how people bitch and bitch that Toyota is boring and makes dull cars. Now they are making something far from it and people still bitch.

"I hate Toyota because they make boring cars that look boring too."

"An exciting Toyota?  Who would buy it?"

It's really ridiculous.  I don't like Toyota any more than the next guy, but give credit where due.

I think those comments are in line with "no one is going to buy the Genesis because it's a Hyundai!"  They have some merit, but at the end of the day the sales numbers and reviews will show how well this car does.

$400,000 will lead to slow sales and harsh criticism.  If it's closer to $250,000, It has a good chance of being a real winner.

I don't think that sales are much of a concern for a $400K car. We saw how banking on profitability in that range played out with the Maybach. And $250K is still pretty ridiculous. Not for nothing, but you can get a V10 in a range of performance cars under $100K no problem.

The $400K question is, will this thing beat a GT-R? W/o the panache, if it can't handily do that then I don't see it doing well.

Very nice looking + promising car though.

Cookie Monster

The more I see this car the more I like it.

I would take this over a Murcielago, definitely.

Comparing it to the CGT or Enzo, it isn't that bad of a value. But, the super car world has changed a lot since those cars came out.

And this thing is ugly.

It's boring and slab sided.

Here's the question: If it were still in production, which would you rather have: this or a Saleen S7?

That's what I thought.

Saleen S7 is downright garish

For the money I'd rather have a F430 Scuderia, F40, 959 etc.

They might build a car for a market they think exists, but dreams and reality often have a strange way of being vastly different from one another.

Which further supports my point.  They're not trying to sell Camry numbers, this is an extremely limited number model.  I suspect they'll have no trouble selling all their cars.

It's also a good halo piece in light of the FT86.

holy crap, it really might cost $375k: http://www.autoblog.com/2009/10/21/lexus-lfa-tokyo-2009/

If Toyota/Lexus didn't insist or imply otherwise, I'd have thought that they were actually trying to make money on the car.

I agree. They will have no problem selling the limited number of these things. I saw someplace that Toyota them self's are picking who can buy one. They probably already know who's getting the cars now.
