Leather.  I've had leather in the Protege for years now, and love it.  I get a ton of comments on it, and could never imagine going back now.
Did you get it put in after the fact? My friend has an MS Protege and he does not have leather.

Yeah, they're after market KatSkinz red/black leather.  Leather was actually an option on P5's, but it was pretty shitty quality.

Are they more comfortable than the stock seats?

And my vote is for leather.  That's probably only because I've never owned a car with leather.  Once I experience it day in and day out for two years, I'll probably hate it.

After you wake up with the sun at 6am on someone's floor, coughing up cigarette butts and tasting like warm beer, you may well change your opinion on this matter.

Absolutely abysmal lumbar support still.  If you're interested in them, when it comes time to sell, let me know.  I'll hook a fellow Spin brotha up.

Yeah, let me know when that day comes.  I'd definitely be interested.  Danke.

Leather.

On the Audi 5000 theme. My dad used to have a 1991 Saab 9000 CD; it was a retirement present to himself. It was loaded with every goodie you can think of (with the regrettable exception of a turbocharger), including a superb real leather interior. He kept the car 17 years and the aroma of fine hide was still as good when he sold it as the day he took delivery back when my kids were  tiny.

The leather in my Pilot & Infinitis (some of which is merely "inserts" with leather lookalike vinyl elsewhere) is nowhere near the quality of the stuff that was in that Saab.

That Saab 9000 (in hatch and sedan) is another car I always had a thing for, like the Audi.  So different from the 900, but somehow interesting in a similar way.  And I remember sitting in a few - the seat comfort and leather were amazing.
