I don't think this has been done before.

I used the list of manufacturers that Edmunds lists in their used cars section, and added an "Other" end.

ifcar

I got 26, including Th!nk for "other."

EDIT: oops, should have been 27. I forgot an old Saturn SL2.

BimmerM3

My list:

Acura
Audi
BMW
Buick
Chrysler
Dodge
Ford
Geo
Honda
Hyundai
Jeep
Land Rover
Lexus
Lincoln
Mazda
MINI
Nissan
Pontiac
Saab
Saturn
Subaru
Toyota
Volkswagen
Volvo

which is 24.

I did set it so that you can change your vote.

Also, should I go back and add manufacturers of cars not sold in the US? If so, what should I add?

Alfa Romeo
Fiat
Renault
Citroen
Peugeot
MG
Rover
Holden
SEAT

2o6

Mitsubishi
Pontiac
Ford.

Not a big list. I hope it grows.

Done, thanks. And either I counted wrong before or I left off something else I'd checked, as I'm still at 26 adding Saturn.

2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

If it makes you feel better, I've never driven a Honda.

As for Toyotas I've driven, I've driven a Camry SE once. Non-Indian car tastes FTW.

EDIT: Wow, how could I have forgotten about the Avalon.

This is because your parents seem to be cooler than the average "I won't drive an American (or not Toyondissan) car because it's not of the same quality as Japanese cars (ZOMG, they're pahfect)."

Something must be in the water over there.
