It sounded as though he was saying those were all things that a minivan would facilitate. The second two at least make some sense, but drug use?

This may come as a shock to you, but yes, 8 teenagers in a minivan is a recipe for drinking and driving.

Like I said, kids can drink and drive in a single-cab pickup too. They can also break the speed limit in a Plymouth Horizon. Nevertheless you have to think about some of this stuff when you're a parent.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not blasting on your parents or anything. The dad who gave my friend the Camaro is a very awesome, responsible guy, and everything turned out OK. Still, it's not something I will do for my kid.

Depending on price, that could be a good deal.

I don't see a big difference there between a seven-passenger van and a five-passenger car, but I've never been the drinking type so perhaps there's a tipping point somewhere in there I don't know about.

My parents had me drive our vans simply because I had the shortest commute and they got the lowest gas mileage, and initially because I hadn't yet learned to drive their stickshift cars.

My kid isn't going to get 5 useable seats either. :mrcool:

My kid'll get whatever I get soon.

AKA, If I get a 2011 WRX, said child would be driving a 2011 WRX in 2042.

That's a great local brewery that we have. Do I drink their beer? No.

I actually preferred the smaller cars for that.  Less volume to fill.

Tave, you're implying McLovin' and 2o6 have game.  Mistake number one.

A set of wheels is better than no set at all, even if it is a minivan. Good luck with the repairs.

That's pretty much all we ever did in my friends' parents' minivans.

That, any crash into the ditch at 110 mph...

If you were hotboxing it, wouldn't it be more likely for you to crash into a ditch at 10 mph?
