I think we know which one Excels.
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

I can't think of any track rivalries that top this one :ohyeah:.

How's about:

vs.

I've never seen those compared to each other.

The E-type sold 70,000 units over its run and cost 1800 pounds (roadster).

The DB5 sold 1,000 units and cost 4500 pounds (convertible).

Depending on price, that could be a good deal.

I figured it was kind of a stretch, but they're both British coupe/convertibles from the same era, and the director of Goldfinger wanted an E-type for Goldfinger, but Jaguar was already having trouble meeting customer demand so they refused to give some to the studio. Obviously he went with the DB5 instead, changing the history of Aston Martin (and James Bond) forever.

Also, when I just glance at the title of this thread, it kind of makes me think of this:

Smoked it?  It shouldn't have unless the Mustang had a piss poor driver.  They have identical acceleration numbers.

The Countach was my first dream car. I remember seeing one at the first auto show I ever went to. It was simply awesome. I couldn't have been older than 4 or 5 at the time. With both doors open, I swooned.

I had a toy Countach when I was little, too. Between that and the little steering wheel with the light up dashboard on the front of a kiddie C4 Corvette that simulated driving, you could tell I was going to be a car nut well before I hit double digits in age.

Same here. And  I was raised by a car guys (Grandfather and uncles) that constantly had all kinds of motor vehicles around. My cousin was just telling me how her son can name every car on the road at 10. She said he's just like I was as a kid! I guesse it's in our blood.  :praise:

As was I, with my dad being very involved in cars and parts. We went to tons of shows when I was a kid (and still do).

I'm going to go with an on-screen rivalry; that from the best car chase scene of all time.

1968 Ford Mustang Fastback GT390 vs. 1968 Dodge Charger Magnum 440:

Nah, Ronin, Gone in 60 Seconds, etc., don't compare if but for nothing else than the sound tracks (exhaust notes) were dubbed or not worth a hoot to listen too.

The ~3 minute jazz lead-in to the chase seals the deal IMO. It is simply masterful. How Hollywood in all its big budge productions can't top this escapes me. Nonetheless, there you have it. There is simply no comparison save for maybe Vanishing Point (early '70s version).

In this instance the Charger was the better performer and the studier car.

You are all wrong.  Clearly the best car chase was from The Fast and the Furious 3, Tokyo Drift.

There's a Mazda/Nissan rivalry?  Over what?  Most ridiculous front fascia?

The Z car and RX cars have always been at each other. Not recently, but when they first came out, they were huge competitors.
