If you're counting past models, add the Accord Hybrid to my list. As far as I know, that's the only hybrid model that's been discontinued.

EDIT: Apparently there were Aura and Durango/Aspen Hybrids as well. It appears that both are being discontinued for the 2010 model year.

I think the Lexus hybrids are supposed to prove that hybrids can be fast (and in the process, not very economical), not necessarily sporty.

I still think it would be awesome to get an Escalade Hybrid and put a really loud exhaust system on there, so that when you hit 25 MPH or whenever it is, you scare all the people around you with the thunderous sound of your giant 6.2L V8.

The GM hybrids are not.  I don't know exactly without doing some reading, and I don't have time for that right now.  All I know is that they aren't.

Specs:

Coupled with either a six-speed manual or CVT gearbox, the CR-Z nets a relatively uninspiring 0 to 62 mph time of 9.7 seconds."



Kinda slow, but the IMA acts as a nice torque boost for the torqueless wonders that many Hondas are.

Would this extra boost (would likely be VERY noticable) really be worth the weight gain?

No. The Accord was supposed to be a "normal" car. This car is supposed to be sporty.

The Accord hybrid had the V6 and the electric motor and thus was faster than the standard V6. It was the first hybrid that was performance oriented rather than economy oriented.

Sorry, I'm gonna have to agree with Hemi here.  When driven hard, a hybrid will deplete its battery in short order and then you're left with an underpowered gas engine being tasked with pulling the dead weight of the now useless hybrid drivetrain.
