Suspension doesn't mean shit when the pavement is wet.  It's all about tires and power at that point.  The Camaros tires are shit in the wet and the power is overwhelming.  I will have a review of the Camaro some time today.

7.5 hours of driving and two mountain passes...and the Explorer returned 22.1 mpg.

That's pretty optimistic, maybe? That's 5 mpg over its rating.

Er, 4 mpg. On summer gas, without any mountain passes, 20-23 seems reasonable, but with winter gas and some big passes, 22 seems a little out of reach. Of course, the nature of mpg calculations is such that there are always outliers, and the best thing is to get an average over many fill-ups, so I suppose 22 mpg is within the expected error (I say that like I've actually calculated something there  ).

The on board computer said 22.1 MPG.  I thought it was a bit optimistic, so I filled up this morning and did the calculation by hand and I got 22.06 MPG.

I don't think 22 MPG is out of the park for a V6 Exploder.  Ours (a 2003 V6) gets about that on highway/freeway stints.  It's actually quite frugal.  It's got a really nice top gear that puts the RPM nice and low for cruising. :ohyeah:

Amazing what gearing can do. :mask:

Crikey. Maybe I need an overdrive for my overdrive. x_x

His real review was more even-handed, but that was still pretty funny.
