Of course, the RSX is:
1.  No longer available.
2.  Not available as a sedan.
3.  More expensive when on sale simultaneously.
4.  More expensive when comparing used to used.
5.  About the same price or slightly cheaper comparing used to new.

Did you really say "This car isn't a good value because this more expensive car that isn't sold anymore is just as good"?

I was talking about the EP3, when new compared to the RSX when new.

I'm not a good judge of ride harshness.  When I find a car that's uncomfortably stiff, I'll let you know, but don't hold your breath.

Agreed.

I haven't ever ridden in an uncomfortably stiff car.

Your idea of uncomfortable might be different from most other people. I drove a modified MINI that had no suspension travel. It rocked. Most people would say it was uncomfortable -- I thought it was frickin' awesome.

OTOH, I think the Yaris hatch -- which has a much softer suspension -- rides somewhat uncomfortably.

Most people complain about the A4's ride, which I can't really see as being uncomfortable.

Hell, I thought the NSX and 996 rode pretty nicely.

Your opinion of what's too stiff will change as you get older.  Mine did.

Ride in a truck sometime.

Specifically one with a load rating of 1 ton or higher.  Make sure the cargo box/bed is empty.

I've driven a few trucks, but I don't think any of them had a payload higher than 3/4 ton (2007 Ram 1500). It's not nearly as stiff as some of the cars I've driven.

New trucks or old trucks?  Trucks made in the past 10 years are a fair bit more refined than trucks made in the late 80s or early 90s.  We had a late 80s 3/4 ton Chevy that we used as a plow truck and, when empty, the ride would jar your teeth loose.

Even our 2005 2500HD is pretty choppy, especially with a trailer.

Our old Silverado rode like a magic carpet flying on a cloud while having sex with a hot Asian.  Until we installed the airbags.

New. I think the oldest I've driven was a '97 Dakota, or possibly my friend's Frontier. Not sure what year it is. I think the '07 Ram 1500 is the only 3/4 ton truck I've driven. Other than that I've driven two Dakotas and a Frontier, which I assume are 1/2 ton trucks.

My buddy's got one of them (modified MINI.)  Super cool car... for a friend to own.  It's hilarious jumping from that to another buddy's '86 lifted Bronco...

We had a 1981 F-250 with two extra leafs in the rear.  Holy fuck.  It was like everything was made out of concrete and there was no give at all.  My 2005 Ram 1500 rode almost as smooth as my Focus.

The new Ram has the best ride on the market, bar none. That coil spring setup is glorious.

Ram 1500 is a half ton truck.  Dakota and Frontier aren't even half ton trucks.

Half tons are F-150, Silverado 1500, and Ram 1500 (and Titan and Tundra).
3/4 tons are F-250, Silverado 2500 and Ram 2500
1 tons are F-350, Silverado 3500 and Ram 3500.

Actually, Dakota and Frontier could be considered half-ton trucks if you go by payload...which you're supposed to.  The Dakota actually has a payload rating that is equal to the Ram 1500 and the tow rating is within 1000 lbs.

The current Dakota is pushing half ton hauling capacity, though that still doesn't qualify it as a "half ton" truck.  "Half ton", "3/4 ton", and so forth are ratings for full size trucks, and the Dakota is still technically a midsizer, which puts it a class below.  Besides that, the old weight ratings really are only used out of posterity rather than as a true indication of a truck's carrying capacity.  Pretty much all "half tons" made in the past 15 years will carry between 3/4 and a full ton.

The previous generation Dakota ('97-'04) wasn't quite up to half-ton hauling capability.  It's gross weight rating was only about 1350 lbs above its curb (about 100 more pounds than a Ranger or S10), whereas an F150 or Ram 1500 of that vintage could carry roughly 1900 lbs beyond its own curb weight.

The current Dakota can haul as much as the Ram 1500 in the box and is less then 1000 lbs shy of the towing capacity.  Technically it's a 1/2 ton truck.

But we're really off topic here.

Back on topic, I wouldn't mind test driving the Eos.  I really liked the look of the one I saw at the auto show, and I'd be interested to see how it drives.  It's also in a reasonable price range, as opposed to its more upscale German cousins.  It was very comfortable to sit in, and overall I liked it quite a bit.
